Four Good players??

i'm no longer keen on Klemmer like most seem to be. I reckon there'd be better bang for your buck elsewhere. I think Penrith is the place to look for top notch up and comers. They'll have a premiership in the next couple of years Id expect.

Matt Gillett from Broncos off contract too….would throw the sink to get this guy!

I agree, Gillett is the type/position player we would greatly benefit from!

You are talking a minimum 700 k for Gillett ( that's salary cap money , not included with TPA's )

If the Broncos want to keep a player they usually stay

You would imagine if we keep the kids and upgrade Teddy's contract there will be very little in the bank to go into the market place and start spending. A goal kicking quality backrower would be the ideal pick up( young version of Corey Parker)..but I do not think they make them anymore!!!

Totally agree. I think you can build your pack around one rep-level prop (which we have) and supplement with some good, hard (cheaper) heads.

I would rather have two strike centres, or an extra strike backrower than two rep props, put it that way. I think props and wingers are the two positions you can afford not to spend most of your salary cap.

As long as we wrap up the likes of Woods, Teddy, Brooks, Moses, Sue, Simona, Kev, Lawrence, Nofo etc. then I wouldn't mind us giving the following a go before we go to the open market, ie. Edwards, MCK, Griffin, Addo-Carr.

I think we have the makings of a great squad but I guess we'll find out over the next 6 months or so.

Assuming our best 17 goes down right now. Our depth is weakest at fullback, at centre, prop and backrow. After trolling through some players, I reckon these ones would have a good impact on our side.

Shaun Lane - Huge body, young, out of favour at the Dogs
David Klemmer - Huge body, young and aggressive, behind others at the Dogs
Mitch Aubusson - Experienced, versatile utility player. Used to winning.
Jacob Gagan - Very young, great finisher, can play wing, fullback and centre.

I'd also be enquiring about at the following;

Greg Eastwood
Tariq Sims
Jacob Saifiti
Robbie Rochow
Tom Symonds
Brenton Lawrence

By attacking groups of players at the same club, you have a chance of landing one and getting the other to follow or worst case scenario force that club to pick one and overpay. If we go hard after the Bulldogs forwards in exchange for them going after Brooks you might price them out of paying more than 650k for Brooks by forcing them to overpay for the likes of Klemmer, Eastwood etc. If they let them walk so they can take Brooks well at least you end up with forwards to help Moses. A Moses/Littlejohn halves pairing isn't so bad if you have great forwards laying the platform imo.

We have Rankin and Hunt as fullback depth. Rankin was good in SL at fullback and Hunt was good for the Dragons when playing at fullback last year. They're a mile off Teddy but fullbacks are expensive and you don't want too much cap tied up with depth. Prop depth will probably be good next year too if Felise and Tatola keep tracking the way they are.

Second row and centre we are still light on depth. I'm really happy with how Kev has started the year at centre and that's been a pleasant surprise and I still rate Simona, but from there it is Chee Kam (an improvised centre) and Heleta (untested and now playing fullback). Second row is just a disaster.

Shaun Lane would be good. Klemmer is too expensive for what he is. Aubusson is a utility and really no better than Halatau. Gagan is good but has had a tough run with injuries and would be a gamble for that reason.

I still like the idea of Elijah Taylor to improve defence and take some of the tackling load off hooker (especially if Farah is gone next season).

Gee Matt Gillet would be an awesome addition to our team. He is a really classy player.

11\. Gillet
12\. Lawerence
13\. Sue

Make it happen Harry..

What's so great about Aubusson? He's a utility and not particularly effective at the Roosters as part of what has been a dominant forward pack for years. Take him out of a dominant forward pack and I doubt he'd offer a great deal more than Halatau…
