So with the young 20s winger singing on, I think that will mean the end of Lote.
Ed Pettybourne I like. Astute signing. Will play plenty of first grade. How much will depend on how Anasta and Heighington are used.
Bodene Thompson I haven't seen a lot of. A back-rower that fills in the centers sometimes I believe. If he performs I dare say we will see a fair bit of him.
Iosefa allows depth for Farah. A hooker for a hooker.

Thompson pretty much played a whole season in the centres, but yeah he's a back rower, and very able one at that. Will be very interesting to see how the puzzle all fits together.

Also, ditch Buhrer, bench Hayne and put Beau on the wing. And Rowdy over Jennings. Fat chance of any of that happening though.

I know its off topic, but just quietly, Hayne played his best game all year last night. I can't stand his attitude, but everytime he had the ball he looked dangerous.

whoops, I meant to post that in another thread.

don't drink and internet guys!

excuse me ive been off a few days?

Am i drunk or have we failed to sign any has-beens* this year? all signings have been pretty good in my book.

some might consider anasta a has-been but i think he's pretty good player in my book

I think more would consider Cashmere a has-been, given that he HAS-BEEN in First Grade but then wasn't. :stuck_out_tongue:

nah, solid player though, paid in meat pies. no complaints

Thompson is a beast…hes huge and has pace and can cause damage, still developing imo hes like a big dopey dog thats full grown but still a pup, lots to learn and Sheens will love tinkering with him....has errors but has some aggro and attitude about him too

I think Pettybourna and a new scene is just what he needs, with Burgess's and Taylor & Luke, hes been shunted back a bit somewhat and his games quietened a bit to when he first hit the scene, a new club may do him well

I can remember Iosefa killing us one time, lots of skills but also error prone at times

Good to extend Nofo, havent seen much of him but hopefully he gets a crack soon....all good afaics....who goes is the Q now

Just read on Wikipedia (hardly concrete, I know,) that Thompson was signed until the end of 2014\. Almost certainly a casualty of Taylor's impending arrival, and I think I read somewhere that Pettybourne was signed until the end of next year, obviously making way for Te'o.

Wonder if Sheens approached them both or was prompted by their managers?

yeah.. so? He's not signed until next season. Iosefa is the only one starting this year

Williams would be great if we could actually get some game time out of him in-between being suspended for elbowing kids in the face, Wouldn't choose him over pettybourne though.

would have been happier if they had signed WILLIAMS and missed out on thompson and pettybourne.

Nah. We've secured two young solid players who don't have external commitments, no baggage and to my knowledge, not associated with any scumbags, and for a fraction of what Williams would have cost.

I don't understand the sudden interest everyone has in Williams! He has taken three years to even look like a first grade player and given his size he still has minimal impact. Sure he ran over Farah to score earlier in the year but when has he ever come up against someone if similar size and been effective?

He did very little in Origin and had minimal impact. He was only put there to combat the size of the Qld pack and I dare say if Woods had a little more experience then he would have filled that position far more effectively.

Our $$$ have been much better spent on Thompson and Eddie. Williams is a big man, but he is no Tuiaki.

They may have been talking about SB Williams rather than Tony Williams but it's often hard to tell.

so his having issues with shoulder which normally means he will have to have reco on shoulder on off season so he will go into season without a pre season and may not even be ready for Rd 1
