Frank paul nuuausala

FPN Gives away a lot of penalties- has a few brain snaps in him- doesn't play alot of minutes. Positives> Powerful- hard hitting - agressive - experienced and a NZ representative. We lack mongrel, he would provide that. Never takes a backward step. If we could afford him , it would be just what the Dr. ordered.

I'm not overly enthused by this potential signing, but with Gavet gone we do need another big body on the bench. He's not particularly tall at 184cm but at 105kg he's solid enough.

Solid enough?
Mmmm…....he's not called Frank Paul the Wrecking Ball for nothing.......

What I will say about FPN - we don't have a player like him. That is always a positive, I like a diverse skillset in the pack.

Perhaps BMM was the closest we used to have to the way FPN plays attack, but we are seriously short on forward power-runners since Dwyer and Ellis left.

Show me a Tigers player that can explosively break the line 1-1 - Marty Taupau is the only one. Woods drags defenders, Galloway tips forward, Bodene is a stepper, Blair is aiming for a quick PTB, Lodge is an ambler, Halatau is an accelerator etc.

He will be a very handy asset.

Yeah, I'd take him. As others have said - he's got mongrel in him. With young Lodge, could provide the aggression we have lacked over the years. In fact, I don't think we have ever been considered an aggressive team. Time to change. So a 'yes' for me, but won't be overly upset if we miss out on him.

I srsly don't see any positive in signing him.

I don't think he has mongrel. Giving away penalties doesn't mean you have mongrel.
He doesn't break the line, isn't fast or dynamic, lacks impact.
He isn't a tackling machine- idk if he can stay on the edge and protect brooks or Moses.

He's average from what I can tell. At the roosters, he has sbw, cordner, guerra, Moa and JWH- you hardly need impact off the bench- his job Is to basically fill in while the others take a rest.

Maybe he's a leader at the roosters? I'm not too sure but I don't see much positive in his signing. Yes, he plays in a position where we lack depth, but you also need to be able to bring someone new to the table which he doesn't IMO.

if hes coming over, what the hell do u want, he runs harder and tackles harder than any forward we have. Its not like we are going get get a top class player, some people really need to realise its the tigers not a two 2 outfit. he will do all right if at the right price.

Ive always rated FPN….always thought he didnt get as much time on the field as he deserves at the Roosters.

We def have no one that has his style of play....good move IMO.

I also read with amazement the comments of some re certain player signings…talk about short memories ,cast your minds back 4 months and think wouldn't it be nice to have a forward that can bend the line .But wait we have Kieth "the snail "Galloway Oh Dear!

This comment isn't meant to upset anyone (and Mods please feel free to delete this post if it does ) but Moses Fotuika always reminded me a bit of FPN for some reason

Which forwards are you talking about?

Woods? Taupau? Ava? Sue? Lodge? Bodene? Blair? They all bend the line, offload and defend better than FPN.

Personally, I'd still have KG and Siro before FPN.

Our forwards were not the problem last year. We need edge backrowers to protect our halves and FPN doesn't do that for us.

I'm happy to invest time in sue and Siro to take that role for us.

How is that going to upset anyone?

I like the idea of FPN, strong runner of the ball and hits hard in defence.

The other part about him is I think he would be the type of player that inspires a bit of confidence with his teammates and gets the team going forward. He is no nonsense and I think that is what Galloway lacks, has the size but not the real strong drive forward that other forwards feed off, FPN would bring that and get our sets starting off on the front foot.

You never know anymore GNR… People get upset over the most innocuous things.

You have remembered him in a respectful way so I can't see anything wrong with that.
