One day I was watching cartoons. The program was about Donald's ducks three sons, one of my favorite childhood shows…. Rudely interrupted for breaking news on Princess Di's death.

Before school one day, watching my fav show Dragon Ball Z... Rudely interrupted by breaking news of terrorist attacks on buildings in NYC.

Traumatic experiences for me because my shows were interrupted.

Charming!

Princess Di was one of the only decent ones in the royal family.

It might not have been a traumatic experience for you watching 9/11 on tv but if you were in New York that day you might see things differently.

Maybe but I'm sick of this line that gets pedalled that Diana was some sort of everyday person and "one of us". What a load of crap. Her family is aristocracy (her brother is an Earl for christ's sake!) who live on an unbelievably big estate. How big? She was buried on an island - who else has an island on their property. I don't see overly different than some of the others royals - just better PR and could play the press a lot better than Charles and the rest.

9/11 was just mind blowing. I remember very well watching The West Wing when 9 had a news flash about planes hitting the towers. They kept TWW running until the end and then it was blanket coverage. Even in Aus it was a confusing time and very chilling. A few years after that I was living in Newark for a short time and used to get the PATH into where the WTC towers were and seeing that massive hole in the ground was fairly intense even after a few years.

I mean no disrespect, I was a youth at the time.
9/11 was shocking, so much death.
Just terrible to believe something like that happened.

Princess Di however, I could care less about her.
Her death didn't effect me whatsoever.
