* We just can't seem to break the injury curse. I don't like to use it as am excuse, as I believe other teams have adapted over the years better then we have. Others teams have competed harder under adversity. However it's just a killer and we can't seem to have a year where we keep them at a minimum.
Even going back to Tuiaki and Dwyer, they were genuinely good first graders who's careers were ended in their prime. Lawrence as far as I am concerned has a career ending injury. Then you have Tuqiri who killed it in 2010, who has not played for 2 years, and Galloway plays 10 games a year. Look at the Bulldogs now, they are a rabble without 2 or 3 leading players. Then today 4 or 5 blokes are injured, and we look shot ducks for the year. I can live with it, as it might be short term pain for long term gain, but I actually feel sorry for us in this regard, especially when it is only so early in the year and Potter is probably reeling with the changes he has to make. Im sure most of it is pot luck, however you would think the wheel would turn eventually or we should review why it keeps happening to us. I was actually pleased with our efforts the past 2 weeks because we showed some ticker under injury adversity, however with troops keep going down it will be a very long year.
* The other frustration I have and perhaps what makes me more enraged is when our senior players help to lose a game we should win. Especially frustrating when it is halves or outside backs that have played 70+ games and have not shown much form in the last 18 months. We lost finals in 2010 and 2011 because of errors in the last 10 minutes of games and we had it again the past 2 weeks. I can accept the other team coming up with good play or young blokes, inexperience getting the better of us however that is not the case when you look at how we lost.
Last week and this week we were level in the game and on top and our senior players come up with unforced errors or bone headed players. Last week Marshall throws a ball out the back on the last and Farah starts a fight and conceeds a penalty. This week Lawrence bombs a certain try and gives up a try threw sheer incompetence. Ashford drops the ball through a lazy losse carry with tackles up the sleeve and Moltzen drops the ball at dummy half inside the last 5 minutes. Then Murdoch keeps 2 unfroced errors. It's not acceptable and with our senior guys doing that under pressure we will always be going no where fast.
