Fulton so far?!

MM,

I have been wrong many times before (I originally thought Marshall was rushed into first grade too early)and I will be wrong many times in the future. I am okay with being wrong if the Tigers are winning

I still cannot fathom how we let him go for a year. He reminds me of Dallas Johnson, just tackles to a standstill, been our best defender for years now…we are a much better side when he is included.

If you can't understand his contribution back to 'Learning Rugby League 101' for you.

Spot on. Probably his best aspect is his defensive reads, he knows which player to tackle when multiple players are attacking, it is instinctive and he has it as good as any other footballer in the NRL. I think Fulton defence is as good as Dallas Johnson and offers more in attack. I said it a few weeks ago in one of the previous round forums, if Fulton was a Queenslander he would get picked at origin level.

Fulton is a natural footballer and we look far better with him on the field, he has to be a starter every week in my opinion. Fulton is also a great clubman and I think his presence off the field lifts the squad morale.

As others have mentioned he has a great understanding with Benji and Gibbs has looked betters since Liam came back.

Does anyone know how long he is signed for? I have heard different amounts of time but I for one hope it is a long term deal.

Tri let him have his moment of glory. He obviously needs it.

Most people who said they didnt want Fulton back based their view on the balance of the team and the question of whether both Fulton and Heighno should be in the same side. Few said he was a bad player. I did say he had a lack of penetration. That is one aspect of his game that has improved.

Yeeah and most people where wrooooooooong….

A few have said so credit to them....

Fulton is no better than he ever was. He's just back where he was 05ish instead of 06ish when he did his shoulder and got worse and worse.

Fulton's just back to par.

Dont know why anyone would not admit when they have been wrong. Picking who is going to succeed as a footballer is never easy. Back in 2005-2006 few would have picked that Collis wouldnt kick on.

On Fulton, I would still like to see him increase his involvement in attack a bit more but i am guessing that will develop as the season progresses.

Fulton re-signed for 2 years, so he's here this year and next at least.

Also you have to remember that Liam is still injured from his off the ball hit from Williams [Manly drink driver]. Wait till he fully recovers!

magpiemania….can't see where any posts have been deleted in this thread....I'll check it out with Admin....

Post them again.

I think southern is a bit off the mark....A lot thought he was RUBBISH.....balance pffft....

Geo I can only speak for myself and what I recall reading at the time. Most of the criticism, as I recall, of Fultons return was in respect of balance and whether he was the right type of backrower that we need. I dont recall a single person saying he was a rubbish footballer.

I still remain a little concerned that Fulton and Heigno dont offer enough penetration for our backrow. However, they are both playing very well at the moment.

BTW MM's posts shouldnt have been deleted IMHO. They were all in good fun.

I never said you said he was Rubbish or questioned your opinion of him…..Rubbish as in average, doesn't add anything to the team, should have stayed in England, not worth the coin, should have kept Galea and Payne etc.....

You might like a bit of light reading....

None of that was overly critical. In fact, it was all rather evenhanded. Zai's post "Im not overly fussed" sort of sums up how I recall the mood being about his return.

HaHaHa….this is my favorite...

Its terrible recruitment and one of the few areas the club should be rightly criticised on.

If that doesn't scream Rubbish….I dunno what does....

The defense rests....

That post was in reference to a confirmation of the re-recruitment of BOTH Fitzy and Fulton - you have taken it out of context. I stand by that view, with the qualification that Fulton has surpassed my expectations.

What about my other posts on Fulton. You didnt pull them up

I said favorite….

I knew that's the response I'd get....you are a good lawyer..... :stuck_out_tongue:

rebuttal...I'm not fussed on the return of Fulton, He's small and doesn't work in the same team as Rhino...while an Ok defender he adds little in attack..

Ok answer this question...

Thus far is that statement accurate or wroooong....

Oh dear. If we start trawling old threads & dragging up historical posts I think we could all be in a lot of strife.

Wrong. I believe I said I was wrong on this issue about 4 times already.

But I am still right that Moltzen was playing woefully this year until his injury
