Deadset this bloke loves the sound of his own voice! Personally I think he has better things to worry about rather than Robbie being a must for the Blues. I have lived in Switzerland for the past 9 months and my only contact with the League is what I read on the online papers and the live stream of our games on a weekly basis. Not a week goes by where there is not an article written by him or one quoting him on one of these media platforms.

How about worrying about your own form champ and living up to that so called SUPERSTAR tag that gets banded about whenever someone in the media speaks your name.

I love the bloke, but seriously I think he needs to take a step back and forget about his media gigs and concentrate on what has got him to where he is today in the first place.... His footy!!

At 27 or 28 years old (not sure of his age) he is one of the leaders in our club and needs to set an example.... More footy and less limelight is all I'm asking.

Wests Tigers star Benji Marshall says NSW can only win Origin with teammate Robbie Farah

BENJI Marshall had a simple message for NSW coach Ricky Stuart and millions of longsuffering Blues fans: "If you want to win Origin, you have to pick Robbie Farah."

Wests Tigers superstar Marshall gave his teammate the ultimate wrap when he labelled him the "best hooker I've played with".

Farah has become the innocent victim in an Origin war of words between Stuart and Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens.

Stuart used his weekend column in The Sunday Telegraph to attack Sheens for pushing his No.9 ahead of Danny Buderus, who was injured in last night's match in Newcastle. Farah is entitled to feel anxious that the backlash from Stuart could cost him a Blues jersey.

Tigers great and long-time Blues official Steve Roach responded in yesterday's Daily Telegraph that Farah "is a great player (but) his game doesn't suit Origin".

But Marshall said selectors need to pick Farah.

"If they want to win Origin they have to play Robbie," Marshall said.

"His form for City-Country, if it's a deadset trial, he was the best player out there on the field. And when the forwards get rolling, he's too dangerous out of dummy-half. When it comes to attack, you have to fight fire with fire. Queensland have plenty of that, and if they (NSW) want to match that, Robbie is your man."

Marshall has played alongside Queensland and Kangaroos rake Cameron Smith in the All Stars fixtures, but has no doubts who he rates the best No.9."Cam is the ultimate professional, but Robbie is the best hooker I've played with," Marshall said. "I've played with both, and if the forwards do their job properly, Robbie's the most dangerous."Asked if Farah was more dangerous than Buderus, Marshall nodded and said: "Yep."

Marshall also threw his support behind young Tigers prop Aaron Woods for a NSW bench spot.

Nothing wrong with Benji throwing his support behind Robbie. He's only telling the truth.

So Benji and Robbie hate each other and have been feuding eh!! What rubbish we had to put up with earlier in the season from the media.

Good on ya Benji weigh in for your mate, pity the self professed Tigers man Blocker Roach couldn't have done the same. Buderus injured last night, a possible replacement Gidley injured as well, as I've said before, Robbie could end up being in the right place at the right time 😛ray: I just hop Ennis isn't picked by the blues club instead of Robbie just to make a point to sheensy.

I wonder if Ricky will write a page in the paper telling Benji he's a kiwi and to butt out of origin. The way Stuart has carried on I don't mind losing a 7th series if it means seeing the back of him. Bring back Gould!

And that's what I'm talking about. Benji didn't need to contribute to the whole Robbie, Ricky & Sheensy melodrama.

It's all well and good for him to support his captain but did he need to use print media to show it? And the telecrap of all papers!! I'm sure Robbie knows he has Benji's support without needing to read it on the back page.

What we need from Benji's now is nothing but 100% concentration at the job at hand. Getting his team climbing back up the ladder and living up to the billing of no.1 contenders for the title. He needs to lead by example so the rest will follow!

I don't have a problem with Benji throwing his two bobs worth in … Why not ? Everyone else is !

That's why the telecrap continues to sell papers!! Whatever happened to the old "no comment" when asked a question by a journo?

Because if Benji said "no comment" to that question the Telecrap would have interpreted it as "they hate each other". We cannot win with that organization.

I think you're taking this a little too seriously. Benji has been in the media limelight for years now and merely gave his opinion when asked. It would have taken him all of 60 seconds and that was it. And given he has a contract with channel 9 and is one of the most marketable Rugby League players today, no one is going to gag him.

Let me tell you how this happens.
Journalist rings Benji…....."Benji what do you think about Farah for Origin"? Marshall backs his skipper and there's your story for todays paper. Or there's option 2

"Benji what do you think about Farah for Origin" ? Marshall : "No comment". Todays story in the tele.......Tigers Feud Continues.

Point taken… It would still be nice to not have our boys in the papers for a week unless it's talk about the upcoming game....

I commend Benji for supporting a mate.

Id much rather see these types of articles in the papers

He should never be gagged. I wish some of the form members who are repeatedly negative and relentlessnessly vitriolic would self gag.

Benji had no option there, he had to answer these questions about his team mate and captain and I think he has answered well without over-playing it.

Did anyone not find it strange that with all these coaches saying "pick [insert player from coaches club], he is ready for origin", that Ricky focussed only on Sheens for his tirade. Flannagan, Bennett and Toovey have all done the same as Sheens and now Benji have done with Robbie, wonder why Stuart centred his attack on Sheens.

Bennett pushed the case of Timana Tahu for christ sake
