Anyone had their Gal Bladder removed in the last few years , got scan ps coming up as I have Been having bad pain front and back seen doc now scans to see what’s doing but he thinks of his inspection it may need to be removed ,,pain all the time specially after food , back is worse with sharp pain

Never had it done but had a very good mate that got bariatric surgery a few years ago, apparently it can cause havoc on the gall bladder afterwards and he needed it removed. Surgery was simple as it gets and zero issue afterwards but the pain was off the charts. Gall bladder and gallstones are up there with the worst pain a human can experience. Feel for you mate. Get it out ASAP

I’m hoping it gets the go ahead as I have paid for a trip to Europe with a cruise and it’s in mid May , so fingers crossed they don’t much around ,

I had my gallbladder out in 1996. It was the worst pain ever, and I've had 3 kids! The surgery was keyhole, quick recovery, and no problems since. Good luck 👍

Drs always give the mandatory, 'youll need to spend 4 days in bed, take 2-3 weeks off work, 4-8 weeks before resuming normal activities' copy and paste speech before every surgery, my mates surgery was a simple overnight stay, zero complications and he was back at work within 4 days. playing cricket 2 weeks later. Recovery is very quick.

Cheers , how’s your diet , I’ve spoken to 2 people one is non drinker , low fat food like grilled chicken , no cucumber , no chillies , no garlic , no capsicum , no sugar sweets , other just eats fairly normal , no pies , ni ice creams and cakes , but eats pretty much everything else including drinks beers 2 to 3 times a week

I eat too much, and drink too much, but all the same things. The only issue I've had is I'm unable to lose all the weight I've gained since probably 2003/4. I don't have any reflux or anything. Just inability to lose weight.
But I'd rather be fat than have that gallbladder pain!

100 % , so no food you can’t eat sounds good but , I love Thai food but I seen a big list of food you can’t have and it was , cucumber , capsicum , onion , garlic , eggs l cheese , fatty meat , processed deli meats , deserts like ice cream , prawns , crabs

I was kinda hoping I couldn't eat the fatty foods but I can, no side effects

Good luck 426.

I've had no experience with gallbladder issues but I've had knee, back & neck surgery.....it couldn't be much worse.

With keyhole surgery you should be back to your old self in 6-8 weeks.

Hoping it's all as stress & pain free as possible for you!
