Ben Galea said he was ‘over the moon' at scoring the first hat-trick of his professional career in his 100th game in Hull KR colours last weekend.
The former Wests Tigers man has made over 250 first grade appearances in both the NRL and Super League, with his hundredth outing for the Robins coming in the 38-10 success over Crusaders on Saturday.
Galea followed in the footsteps of Peter Fox who had marked the same milestone with a hat-trick against Wakefield a week earlier, and Galea said he was delighted with the three tries.
"I'm over the moon," said the back-rower speaking exclusively to the Hull KR.tv cameras after the game for the official matchday DVD.
"It's the first hat-trick of my career and I take my hat off to Dobbo because he put them on a platter for me so I've got to thank him for that.
"I hit him up before the game actually and said I've had a dry spell for a while and I wouldn't mind having a strike so he gave me a little nudge after the game and said, there you go mate, I've looked after you today."
After racing into a 12-0 lead in the opening fifteen minutes, Crusaders hauled themselves back into the game to trail by just two points as half-time approached.
Galea said it was a simple message amongst the players as the Welsh outfit fought back.
"Stop dropping the ball, pretty much," said Galea.
"We lapsed off a little bit and our concentration probably fell off a little bit and that's what happens. Against any team, if you give them enough ball they're going to score points.
"Luckily we got that right in the second half, started holding onto the ball, completing our sets and we got the rewards.
"We've built ourselves a bit of momentum now with three in a row for the first time this year so hopefully we can continue that next week and get a lot of positives out of it and more confidence. Then who knows against Saints, we might just pip them."
You can watch the full interview with Galea on the official matchday DVD which will be available in-store later this week priced at £10.99.
The interview is part of the full eighty minutes with commentary provided by the voice of Hull KR.tv, Rob Chadwick.
