My interest in boxing peaked when Clay/Ali Frazier and Foreman were fighting and the only regret i have at that time was that Teofilo Stevenson never became a professional fighter (politics he was cuban).Stevenson won 3 gold medals at the olympics and certainly would have given the Americans a huge fight. All 4 of those men were true icons of the sport.
Boxing in those days was still a legitimate sport but has now sadly become a laughing stock except for a few rare occasions.

If you peaked with Ali/Frazier & Foreman, you would have missed the greatest phase of boxing history with the four kings Hagler/Hearns/Leonard/Duran

I have seen film clips of those 4 but that is all

Hagler/HEarns one of the greatest fights ever.

I wouldn't watch this garbage, this type of boxing is fake as.

Big Mummy Browne wasn't being paid much from the fight purse, and was a $1.50 favourite.

So ask yourself, who wins by the favourite getting beat?

I'm sure Big Mummy got his pay from other sources.

it woukd be good to see Gallen put Whittaker on his backside

Did you watch Whittaker fight the other day. He was good. I'm not watching Gallen fight ever because I think it's a joke.

It's like the 10,0000 rated fighter in the world fighting the 20,000 rated fighter in the world and for some reason people are paying for it.

I don't get it.

I still maintain finding out their levels of drugs in their systems when they were sprung and then the person with the highest reading won would have been more interesting

Saw a good analogy on social media - said Gallen was swinging punches like a blind man trying to fight off bees.

Deadset farce .. do people really pay to watch this crap ?

No idea why anyone would watch. The promo showed Brownes lucky right cross which got him the title, but it also showed a much fitter fighter than the heavy bag looking for a payday with Gallen.

As soon as he weighed in at 117kg I knew he would struggle.... did you see the footage of Browne eating a sausage roll while warming up backstage ? Don't think he took it very seriously

If you believe Browne's post this morning he was eating and apricot oat bar lol.

Problem with boxing is there's so many belts and a lot of the champions barely fight you don't get to see the best of the best fight each other that much. That's why MMA is so good, it's a continual stream of high quality fights

Still reckon a bad boxing match up is better than a bad MMA match up

Boxer Gallen - Now I know where Ive seen this before

Depends on if they're willing to throw down or not ?

That's literally spot on. There was nothing technical about his approach, it was all swing enough and one will eventually hit the mark. I'm not convinced any actually really hit the mark either which suggests something else altogether.

Gallen legit could fight Justis Huni for the Australian heavyweight championship.... would be pretty incredible if Gallen could pull that off.

I think Gallen’s better than most people think, but Whittaker would stop him within 1 or 2 rounds in a boxing match or (obviously) MMA match like @JC99 said.

He’s a real killer.

Wonder if he’d have the balls to get in the ring with Tyson

Tyson now is completely different to Tyson in his prime. I heard his last fight was embarrassing.

Wilder? You're kidding right?

He's beaten everyone he's come up against. He would blitz Gallen.

I agree, however looking at Gallen's lack of technique/skills and Tysons punishing power (still) - I think Tyson would wipe the floor with Homer.

I’d give Gal half a round. I’m being generous as well.
