Galloway for Origin debut as Merrin exits

Keith Galloway is set to make his State of Origin debut for NSW in Wednesday's series-decider after fellow prop Trent Merrin was cut from the Blues squad on Friday.

Wests Tigers front rower Galloway is expected to earn a spot in the interchange bench in place of Merrin who played in the first two games of the series.

Merrin was part of an extended 20-man squad selected earlier in the week the deciding third game against Queensland at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.

But he was released by Blues coach Ricky Stuart and will now play for his club St George Illawarra in Sunday's NRL match against Newcastle.

Stuart gave no indication as to when he would finalise his final 17-man squad, with some lingering fitness concerns remaining over centre Michael Jennings, five eighth James Soward and utility Kurt Gidley.

Finally! Now I might actually be able to support NSW again… Won't believe it til I see him in the final team. George Rose is probably on standby

Great news for big kieth!!!I think this is just what he needs.to be on a big stage in a massive game for nsw.I hope now he can realize his true potential n come back to tigers a big game player.

Three things I hope happen:

1\. He doesn't get injured;
2\. He has a blinder;
3\. QLD still beat the blues by 30.

Whats wrong with you CB???

You seem to be so astute and cultured in your posts and then " BANG" you let the Bogan out with statements like #3.

It is time for the reign of evil to end…..

Really hope he goes well. Alot of props have been tried by NSW and failed miserably over the last few years. It's a very different style of football to the norm. If he has a big game he could stamp a spot for the next few years and really be a key man in the pack.

I think this is his chance to really take his game to the next level. He could very well come back a better player and this can only be great for the club.

I honestly believe that Glenn Stewart will come in as he is still in camp.

I hope Keith gets a run but I have my doubts

About time there is a tiger in the NSW squad and gratz to sauce on getting a spot he should have been in all the origins the last 2 years but injurys came up at the wrong time
