Gareth Ellis appreciation thread.

With the looming departure of Gareth Ellis from our mighty Wests Tigers, I thought it may be a good idea for us to dedicate a thread in which we can thank Gareth, leave our best wishes with him and discuss the impact he has had at our club (on and off the field) since arriving in 2009 and through to the end of this season, as it progresses.

It would also be nice to hear of any personal experiences that any members of the forum have had with him.

So Gareth, on behalf of the Wests Tigers Forum, I would like to thank you for all of your hard work in turning our team into a real premiership contender and always carrying himself with the upmost professional way possible during your time here.

I hope our Wests Tigers can send you home with a NRL premiership ring and wish you and your family every success in your future back home.

My favourite thing about Gareth is his voice. Hearing him speak for first time I was like.. one of these things is not like the other.

But he's been a real gem, no one could ever say a bad word about him. Best import ever
 
I was trying to think of any better English imports yesterday and I still haven't come up with one yet. For me the mark he has left on the team and club has been undeniable and the impact he has had on the game as a whole is massive.

He is one player who will always be welcome to the Wests Tigers by staff, players and fans alike.

Gareth you will be missed, in my book one of the most exciting back rowers to watch in today's game. looking forward to watching him play this year, 1 more great season with the tigers!

Gareth has been a fantastic player & ambassedor for the Tigers. Sad to see him go but family comes first. Hopefully he can go out with a bang. He Deserves it.
 
Always remember the flick pass to Benji. As Gus would say WOW. Up there with the Lockwood Pringle move from the 70's. Massive influence at the Tigers. Thanks for the memories.

I couldn't say enough about Ellis. In my opinion the best Englishman to play in Australia, no exceptions. The complete back rower. Hopefully we made him welcome and he'll recommend WT to other top Englishman.

in my opinion Gareth is the best buy for the wests tigers ever.. bar none. massive motor, inspirational, absolute class act. gutted to see him go. have enjoyed every minute. good luck gareth hopefully send you out a premiership winner in 2012\. :sign:
 
Tigers have a history of getting value from English imports

Andy Currier

I reckon if the Tigers get close this year, Ellis may consider returning in 2013.

Magpies and balmain both have a history of english imports.. Unique indeed. Wonder who we can recruit after we free up $$$ post lote era
