Gavet Released

Would he be a good fit with the reduced interchanges?

Like Taupau, I don't think he has the motor. Great off the bench for 15 minutes of mayhem before halftime though. He worked really well with Taupau in that regard last year.

That's what I was hinting at Willow. If Taupau is still on for next year, can we really afford to carry two of this type of player. That is asking huge minutes from Woods and whomever else his front row partner will be.

No use signing an old player who messed up in a previous stint, once back at the Hotel California, I mean Wests Tigers, bound to fall back into old habits.

I'm not supporting a Gavet signing, but a 15 minute stint player is definitely a consideration with Woods playing 50 minutes.

From a non-Wests Tigers view-point, I'm really keen to see how some of the big boppers handle the reduced interchange next year. Some of them will obviously suffer from the increased work rate, but I suspect a few good offloaders could have a field day against tired defenders.

When fit , this guy hits hard on the charge , we could do with him if cheap , a rotation of impact players is what it all going to be about next year

He still has great potential, there's not too many players with his type of game; sure, it has to be a "fit" for both sides, and at this stage, are we even in the picture?

Still think he could be handy and cheap , he had his deamons and got himself cleaned up , this would be his last chance I think and I heard the Raiders were looking at him and we just got Edwards from them ,
15 minutes of smashem up James

Still an absolute NO from me.

I am not sure where he will end up but I realy think he still has best days ahead of him , I know people don't like him and he has been average prior to his problems but if cheap and last chance he is a good footballer who could be a real positive signing , this guy has the same smashem up as Marty and every one who was pissed when we let Marrty go well I think this bloke could give as much as Marty did , keep in mind , Marty didn't set the world n fire with us he just stood out now and then , this guy if now body grabs him is a great waste of talent

Is is a drunk, he even admitted it himself. No way do we need more problems.

It is a "no" from me.

The worry for Gavet is he was released a month ago and still no takers. Maybe 14 NRL games in 4 years plus a known troubled past is not making him an attractive option or worth the plus of an up and coming player. He would come cheap though.

The reality is he is a State Cup player at best.

I think he won the best player in State Cup the year before he came to us. He has a tonne of ability impact wise but I don't see the point in having a punt on him.

He has played one full season and that was with us. Other than that he has had consistent injuries, and I think that is due to his loose style of play. Can run hard but misses far too many one on one tackles. I will be surprised if we see him in first grade again.

If Bennett couldn't get the best out of him he is probably a lost cause unfortunately. Shame, he fired up the team well a few times in his stint with the Tigers

I dunno about that. He did his ACL like 2 games into the season. It's a bit hard to get the best out of someone when they are in rehab lol
