Gavet Released

Bring him back. He was popular with the players and he'd be a good bargaining chip for retaining Taupau imo. They seemed to love each other.

Had an idea he had some behavioural issues when he was last with us however could be mistaken about that. Good player at his best if a bit wild at times.

His main problem was with being on time. Which doesn't meet team standards.

and u can add that he couldn't tackle.

This is exactly they type of player we should be staying away from. Bad attitude, many flaws in his game and can only play in short bursts.

He's terrible…. And long gone!!
Let it go....
He's a myth, had half a dozen good runs in 5 years and people think he's the 2nd coming of Arthur Beetson.
Hasn't made it at 4 clubs (thus far) can't see him changing that any time before it's too late for him.

Bye bye....

Crikey we've got a bit of an issue here, some of the forum want to sign him back up tomorrow while in Rikers Island Prison languishes a person who has been sacked without due notice etc etc!.

Remember the killer bench we had in early 2014, before injury struck:

Marty
Sue
Ava
Gavet

Weren't they the bruise brothers? Great to get this back if they can get it right.

Just what we need another forward who could occasionally pull off a big hit but can't defend and drops the ball a lot…

Should never have cut his hair...

He was gone next year anyway Leroy. Sacking him was a formality in releasing him for the remainder of this year I would say.

IIRC the club are offering the usual off field fare to a player that finds themselves at the wrong end of the long arm of the law.

I would sign him immediately. Instant cheaper replacement for Lodge.
Also a mate of Tauapau which, may help in negotiations. Worst case get him and JT drinking together.

Like Taupau he is an impact player and only good for short bursts. The big difference is Gavet has shocking hands and discipline issues. If he could show he has overcome his discipline issues, he would be handy for depth. Whether Taylor wants him is another question.

Bring him back we need impact forwards on the bench. If that costs us a few errors to have a respectable pack so be it

how the hell do the broncos get players to ask them for release while we have to pay our players to go play elsewhere?

I think he played one game this year and he was terrible. If the Broncos "threatened" him with a year in reserve grade, it could be the end of his career.

Works for Gavet, don't work for Farah.

Anyone seen Jordan Drew play ??

Doesn't ring a bell , but most Broncos outside backs are pretty good (bar Stuart Kelly lol )

No thanks. Be a bit like buying back a slightly dodgy used car you'd previously sold to some other unfortunate

We really don't need him. McConacchie is a similar player, but seemingly better at everything than Gavet.

At best we could offer him a nsw cup contract on next to nothing, where he can prove his fitness, form and attitude are up to scratch. If he does that consistently he might get a shot off the bench. But he'd be bottom of the pecking order.

Long and the short of it is: Broncos don't want him now that we're not paying the bulk of his bill for them. Why the hell would we want him back? We paid last year for him for nothing in return…. That alone, I don't want a bar of him.
