On Sportsbet they had Kimbo Slice's fight starting at 7 and the main event starting at 11

Slices fight is apparently a 4 rounder…15 minutes max....there's be more than 3 hours of nothing

I think the evening as a whole starts at 8...Geales promoter guesstimated on radio this morning about 10pm

I like how he calls fellow Aboriginal people Uncle Toms.

Sure the term comes from the American book Uncle Toms Cabin and is solely about the experience of African Americans during a time period but good on him for ignoring the utter irrelevance of it all and letting his moron light shine bright.

Great bloke Mundine is…trash-talking about someone who is dead and can't have a reply. Uncle Tom is also what Ali repeatedly referred to Frazier as, another example of this jerk genuinely believing that he is Ali. Don't think I have seen anyone more deluded and full of self-grandeur than Mundine. Ever.

Deliver to him a slow, prolonged, painful beating Gealy, he deserves nothing less. Go champ

Dont be surprised if Mundine gets up tonight. Word is that hes struggled with his hip for a while and hadnt been able to do adequate running leading up to fights but its fixed now and is back to feeling like he did when he was genuinely a world class fighter. He will be dangerous toinhht and Geale will have ti perform

Yes Geale will have to be on his game tonight for sure. I am just wondering what Mundine's excuse will be if he loses: will it be his hip or the judges that will be to blame?

Geale is all over that racist piece of trash….only a lucky punch will see mongdine get out of this. He has had about 4 warnings for using his head already.

Geale wins it by unanimous decision. Mundine carried on like he won and played it up to the cameras, classy as always. Wish Geale put his lights out, but this is still a very satisfying result.

Great work Danny!!!!

You shut that yapping loser up tonight. My favourite part of the night? …not just watching Dan tag that scumbag 50 odd times, but the crowd booed him out of the ring after the decision.

Australia hates Anthony Mundine and hopefully he now fully realises it. He was a decent footballer at best and reasonably average fighter. His delusions of grandeur and filthy racist mouth have cost him a place in our hearts and I couldnt be happier.

Mundine fought with honour, he did very well though he is not the fighter he once was.

After the fight well that is another story. His father Ton acted like a gracious and humble man congratulating Geale on his performance and heart. He is the only true champion of the Mundine boxing clan.

I am glad in a way it went the 12 as it can't be blamed on a lucky punch, he beat him convincingly in 9 of the 12 rounds and never looked out of his comfort zone.

Now we have Mundine claiming he was robbed (interviewed by Fox after the fight)
The guy is delusional - in most people's opinion he didn't even win a round.
Let's hope he quickly disappears from the limelight- although he might put his hand up to coach Origin

I personally scored in 118-110 Geale. I thought he was easily superior. Mundine has slowed down a lot over the past few years and looked a class below Geale in terms of speed and workrate. None of Mundine's post-fight claims seemed consistent with reality.

yes Smeg, he fought with honor but he undid it all when he opened his mouth after the fight. His father however is a different story.

Its a shame Mundine isn't 100kg's heavier, the guy would make an awesome awesome heel in WWE. He literally is in real life what those guys play on TV. He'd do an amazing job

Anyway not sure its been mentioned as i haven't read the thread but anyone see Sonny-Bill's tweet?

The wrestling fan in me is a fan of Mundine. Its always the bad guy who makes the show more interesting. Without the antagonist there is no hero for the country to get behind. If it wasn't for Mundine nobody would know who Geale is. Thats one Mundine can always rightly claim, that he put boxing on the map in this country

The country is celebrating this morning but so is Mundine. Not because of his ''win'' but because he's millions richer

Now for the good of everyone go to WWE and be a manager. A couple of Mundine promos and he'll be the hottest guy in the company in no time

I agree with your assertion that Mundine is just playing a role, and that people who find time to hate him are just falling for the act.

But no way did he put boxing on the map, Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu came before him, and Geale is a champion in his own right, winning titles and fighting better boxers than Mundine ever did.

I think that is only true to an extent. Yes a lot of his hyperbole is clearly aimed at getting attention and generating interest but you get the feeling he believes a lot of his rubbish. The comments about Arthur Beetson for intstance just seemed like a cheap shot against a dead man rather than "an act". Likewise his comments post-fight can't be spun any other way apart from sour grapes from a small man.

Fair enough, but those guys never captured the public's interest (positively or negatively) and got people talking the way Mundine has. Australians and their culture just aren't use to his brashness and cockiness whereas if he were in America he'd be a dame-a-dozen

It's one thing to play the pantomime villain in order to promote yourself and the fight.
It's entirely another to act like a spoilt brat when you lose and show absolutely no grace or dignity.

Anthony "The Man-Child" Mundine.
