It is with great sadness that we wish to advise of the passing of forum member and a hugely respected member of the Wests Tigers fan community Geo. Geo has been a highly active member of the Wests Tigers community for a long time and grew to be a wonderful leader of that community for many years.

Geo passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Friday night after suffering a heart attack.

After discussions with his family this afternoon this thread will be left open for comments that will then be collated and passed onto his family at a future time.

This is a great loss for our community but that pales in significance to the loss his family and his school community, where he taught for over 21 years, have suffered.

Thoughts go out to his family during this difficult time.



Rest in Peace mate, you will be greatly missed.

Im soo sad and gutted.

Geo was a big brother here and just check who has the highest points by a long shot.

Really, really sad to read this. I never met Geoff in person but we had a few chats on private messages. A very likeable, funny, decent man and a good observer of the game.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed, not just on this forum but generally. Thanks for the many laughs over the years mate.
 
I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Geo in person and by all accounts, he was a wonderful person. Over the years I have enjoyed reading his comments on this forum. He welcomed everyone & was level headed & fair, he may not have agreed with everyone’s opinions but he made sure that everyone got a chance to voice them.
Geo was highly respected on the forum & his comments & sense of humour will be greatly missed.
Condolences to his family & friends, remember him with a smile because I am sure that is how he would like to be remembered.
RIP Wests Tigers Forum Legend.

I was stunned and shocked when I heard the sad news yesterday... Still find it hard to believe and I've looked for his FB page and posts here hoping it's a mistake... But it's not, like others I feel like I've lost a mate... I met him a few times years back... Some people's online persona are very different to the real person but Geoff and Geo were very similar, loyal to his team, knowledgeable and never had a bad word to say about the club, players admin or members here.
I will miss his lame dad jokes, to his wife Ness and his family & friends my sincere condolences
Was hoping so much for the boys to do it for Geo yesterday especially against the old enemy 😓

I don't know how everyone is feeling right now with the knowledge that Geo has gone, I for one am feeling a little bit flat. We have lost a brother.
Everything I write tonight seems to be frugal.
I'm expecting Geo to respond to me with a one liner.
It's going to be a long week.
I know he'd be looking forward to the next game, so say all of us!

He'll be greatly missed by all.
 
So sad to hear about the passing of Geo. Like many posters, I unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting him and he sounded like a great man and gone way too soon. Condolences to Geo's family and friends during this tough time.
 
You only have to look at the pages of heartfelt condolences to see how loved and respected Geo was.
I hope his family & friends can take some comfort from all these online friends.
He will be terribly missed but how damn lucky were we to be able to know him at all?

Maybe a permanent digital plaque like thing on the forum somewhere, for everyone to see.

It's crazy to think he's been in my life, and others life's for so long... something like 12 years for me...

A reminder of how fragile life can be.

I think it would be fitting to have a thread specifically dedicated to some of Geo's classic one liners. I still laugh at the Food thread that was put up to discuss all the different types of foods. Geo's post " Pies - end thread".

It's weird how someone can affect your life and you only realise it when they have gone.
I know you have chatted to geo for years mate so it must be even a greater shock.
For me, GEO was responsible for giving me the confidence to start posting again, a couple of years ago he was like a big brother. When I was clearly upset about how a poster was treating me he would private msg me to say not to worry about that person....he would say something silly to make me feel better.
I'm sure he did the same for others.
 
I notice his last post was 3:30 Friday afternoon. Once upon a time you would be in shock how you just saw somebody who passed only an hour before. In this day and age, you can see them by their digital foot print. One minute you’re here posting, keeping everyone in line, and the next that’s it. Like I said earlier, life is fickle and you never know when your time may be up. Makes you want to value every moment you have and make sure you tell everyone close to you just how much you love them.
