Gibbs with Benji and Beau on the Footy show

It was ultimately Gibbsy's choice. He was getting paid anyway. You can try to turn it into anything you want.

I just had to replace a fuel filter in my car too, cost quite a few hundred dollars. I blame Sheens and Humphreys.

I also had a crap client on the phone yesterday that really sh**ed me off. I blame Sheens and Humphreys.

Have either of them ever been near Wanda Beach? Where were they during 9/11? Were they both behind the grassy knoll?

Pretty soon there will be a ninth wonder of the world. It will be something that Sheens and Humphreys cannot be blamed for.

Nice way to avoid the issue…....................................

Gibbs wanted more money - Tigers wouldn't give it, Sharks would.

Simple equation.

.

Completely wrong mate. He had already signed a contract and agreed to the terms. Money was redundant at that point.

You are completely wrong.

The issue was a month AFTER signing a contract when he was called in an told "you are free to leave".

Sure he could have stayed…but how many people woul want to after their boss and coach have told them they are not wanted? This is all on Humphreys and Sheens.

How do you know this happened?

It's not even rumour mate. Facts are facts.

I too watched the footy show and remember how much Gibbsy contributed on and off the field.

But lets get fair dinkum here.

GIBBSY HAD A CONTRACT, COULD HAVE STAYED AND WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL !!

HE WAS NOT SACKED!!!

He chose to move on and it was his choice.

There will of course be people on here who hold the belief that if you're told to look around, your job is finished. THAT IS CRAP. He could have stayed, played his guts out, been in a position where they had to pick him. To say he would have played out his 3 years in park football is just absolute crap.

I miss Bryce and I'm sure the team does, just as much as anyone else on here. But he ultimately made the choice, OF HIS OWN ACCORD to leave and we should accept that and move on. Others were told they could look elsewhere but STAYED. Bryce didn't for his own reasons, and I wish him nothing but absolute success. I hope he make the decision to come back one day. END OF STORY

Doesnt change the fact he was urged to go, look around….ie: not wanted!
Pretty stupid knocking back an offer of a club that WANTS you to stay somewhere where clearly you'll possibly be on the outer
The club made the ultimate choice, not Gibbs
10 years service is very rare, when our other players are getting their awards for this at years end, it will be a hollow moment because Gibbs shouldve been there with em

How do you know he was "urged" to look around? How do you know he was "not wanted"?

What do you think most players do not long after signing a three year extension?

They dont go looking for another deal unless someone suggests it. Gibbs stated dozens of times he wanted to stay

You sign a player then let him go, hardly the actions of a club that wants to hang onto a player. :unamused:
Its not hard.

Gibbsy was done over, simple as that!!

Don't know why, but geez what a decision

Your right Ink, the 10 years service this year will be hollow

Ink, avoiding the topic? Seriously.

Facts are, even If Sheens and Humphreys held a gun to his head and kicked his dog and told him to leave, he made the final call. If he was sacked, terminated, retrenched, I'd be 100% with you. That didn't happen and so the fact remains he made the final call.

Personally, I would have stayed with my mates at my favorite club, played out of my skin and rammed it fair up the coach and CEO's rear end. Gibbsy chose a different option and whilst that coach and CEO might be happy with Gibbsy's decision, they didn't make it for him, regardless of what twist you might like to put on it.

He did say that he wanted to stay. Humphreys also said that if he didnt want to go or he couldnt find a better contract that the club would have honored his contract. Simple case of he was given and option and he made his decision.

Hmmm…urged to look around?

The club had the final word here, dunno how anyone can think otherwise, he was locked up and they let him go.
Safer bet going where youre wanted than where it seems youre not.
Good luck to Bryce getting better coin, he's winning, he's laughing.

Gibbs walked out of Humptys office in tears when he was told he was no longer wanted and that he should accept the Sharks offer. A bloke who was denied the chance to be a one club player. A scapegoat for the Blair signing and the retention of Woods and Groat.

You guys can put any spin to defend the heirachy. He was shown the door to the shire.

OK, you win. Too good for me.

Well the only facts I am clear on is that Gibbs is getting paid more at the Sharks and the Tigers couldn't force him to leave.

Everything other detail is going to be a 'he said, she said' situation.

Let me put my 2 cents worth. Gibbo is missed by everyone at the club. Now I know the full story and I really don't want false things said. Bryce was told by the club that he could shop around and if he found a better deal from any other club he'd be free to go. Bryce being the person he is took that as he was not wanted. (that'd be the way I would have taken it as well). His manager did then find a better deal with the Sharks and Bryce decided the best thing for him would be to leave for a change. We all supported him.

Unfortunately it's happened. But I think the tigers looked beyond the year. He had 3 years. His knee is not getting better, and his time on the feild was getting less and less each year.
Take out the emotions of him being well liked and it's probably not that bad a move.

But

In saying that we are missing him so far this season. His defensive efforts were always top notch. He is not playing much footy ATM due to injuries.

Anyone who expected Blair to be a hit from the word go is kidding them selves. He will take a good half a season if not more to get used to our team.

I was concerned when the boys were asked at the end of the show when the tips were being given out with their answer. There was no emphatic statement that, "yes, we are going to win Sunday" but a wishey, washey "yeah, we'll win" coupled with some very ordinary body language.

My Sharks supporting wife (who quite frankly is loving my discomfort at our losing streak) quickly stated that she wouldnt be tipping the Tigers this weekend based upon the response given.

They were probably taken aback by the banality of the question… Seriously who did they think Beau Ryan and Benji Marshall would tip? 😕

I watched the show and 3 or 4 times throuout it, Fatty said directly to Beau and Benj 'you guys lose this weekend and your year is over'. This was met with rising anger from both of them. By the last time he said it, Benji turned his back to him and Beau stared stright at him and said 'OK' …as if to say we have already answered this and I dont give a sh!t what you think.

The tiges will win and win well this weekend. The positive talk from Benji, Robbie and Beau throughout the show indicates that they are hungrier than ever to win. penrith have a weakened side and they are going to cop it. I originally picked us by 18....I am now saying 30.

one other thing, the footy show put together a video of Benji stuffing up during games this year as a part of their view on why we are losing. Beau jumped straight in and said "those passes stick and we would be 3-3 or 4-2\. It is how we always play and last year when we went on our winning streak, those passes stuck and you lot were praising us".

It is a point that has been missed by the majority of fans and the media alike.
