Holy Cross College Ryde will play the all powerful Patrician Brothers College Blacktown in the 1st gio Schoolboys Cup Semi Final this year after an impressive 20 - nil win over Westfields SHS at Leichhardt Oval on Friday arvie.
With a combined 9 Australian Schoolboys this should be a very exciting and fast Semi Final. Holy Cross have 3 Schoolboys to follow in the foot steps of last years skipper Curtis Sirosen who is now playing 1st grade in the NRL.

The Holy Cross backs are very dangerous with Mitchell Moses and Bradley Dietz & Luke Brooks in the halves, these stars of the future will line up against the England Academy in Melbourne on the 5th of August. Apologies for not being able to show the photo with this article i copied & pasted.

As I understand it, the semi-final between Holy Cross and Patrician Bro's is a television game but will be played in Queensland prior to a Queensland Cup game, Ch9 televising that comp up north. Somebody was not happy with alcohol advertising on NRL grounds prior to Friday Night games. Still don't have a definite date or location.

You might get a run in the game at 1:10 Happy… If you do, can you smash one of those Redcliffe Mutts for me!

Watto it says Old Boys not dinosaurs and getting a run could take on a completely new meaning

But smashing a Redcliffe player ….... Sounds fun Might get me off the field in a hurry as well :roll

The news that the GIO Cup games had been transferred from Suncorp because of the Bundaberg logos on the field gained a little feedback on the Big Sports Breakfast this morning, the Politically Correct Police have listened and acted on one complaint, just wait for the Fun Police to get involved.
Part of the conversation revolved around the fact that the games are highly unlikely to be televised as Channel 9 won't go to the expense of sending a OBC crew to Ipswich and the fact that ground advertising is highly unlikely to result in children taking up Adults VICES!.

Much the opposite - the whole point of the games being moved to Ipswich was because Ch9 have an OBC crew there for the Queensland Cup game afterwards. Had the game been in Sydney and the games not been moved, it would have either last Friday at Bluetongue Gosford or this Friday at ANZ.

Big blow for Holy Cross losing Mitchell Moses for the rest of the season.

Looks like Pats ran away with it in the end.

Seems the loss of Moses was too much in the end considering how good a team Pats are

Bugger. A shame for both schools to bow out, but some top talent in there nonetheless, and I'm sure they'll both be thereabouts again next year.
