AFL pads their product with pre-game and post-game. Personally I just want to see the lineups, get straight into the match and see the press conferences.
If you want continuous "expert" footy analysis and opinion, move to The States and watch ESPN during NFL season.
Not saying Channel 9 are awesome, but NRL on TV is a superior product and rates better than AFL nationally. The ads on the Sunday game do stink, but during the live games you barely get a handful of ads. We can't grow the revenue for the game and demand less ads!
AFL chuck an ad into every goal break, plus extended ads at their quarter breaks. I am certain if you added it up it would amount to the same as Sunday footy, just that we are otherwise used to continous 40m halves.
