Goal Kicking

Mush as I loved both Hodgo and Richards they are NOT the answer. The standard of the Pommie comp is way below the NRL and their NRL days are long gone. I believe Miller could be a long term solution to the problem.

I agree with Goose - the young bloke is a REAL goalkicker .
Sure he will have the added pressure of it being his first top grade game but goalkickers love having the pressure on them - and love winning games with their boot.

Marshall will kick, the only way Sheens would make Miller the kicker would be if Lui was out for the season and he expected Miller to be the full time half for the year, or expected him to play in another position.

Otherwise it seems a bad move, Benji is inconsistant as it is, imagine giving him a 6 week break and then bringing him back when Lui replaces Miller.

Just my opinion but i can't see it even though on the surface it looks obvious to have Miller licking.

Cant see Sheens swapping Benji at this stage, as he is likely to be our kicker for the majority of the season why send out some negative message by replacing him in the short term with Miller. Would be different if Miller was set to be our starting no7 for the rest of the season. Barring that one shocker the other night he actually has been striking them pretty well without much luck

It's not like he kicks 85% at other times and was unlucky on one night. I'm sure Benji's ego will be strong enough to withstand handing over kicking duties for the short-term as he did last year when Lawrence had a crack. He doesn't seem to enjoy doing it now.

If it was Meaney or even Mullaney I'd stick with Marshall but Miller (why do all our kickers start with an M?) seems to be a level above Benji. If we lost by 2 points and Benji kicked 2/5 there would be a lot of knives out…

Seems from the paper today that Miller will kick - Sheens talked about his goal kicking in fact the first thing he mentioned

if miller plays, he might as well kick. what happens if sheens sticks with benji, then he misses a couple on the night (which is likely). does he then change mid game to miller? you might as well give it to miller from the start.

plus if miller does kick and ends up doing a bad job, then we change back to benji and this debate will stop (until meaney or mullaney comes in…haha)

I can't see why Benji would mind giving up the kicking… he's not the best at it, and if there's better in the team, you'd think he'd be happy!
