will be interesting to see what Sheens and co. plan to do with Doueihi now out for the remainder of the year.
in terms of in-house options, they are skim at best. Wakeham is a reserve grader whose fifth tackle options put us constantly under pressure. Daine was apparently out the door last week and has been poor since being demoted. Will Smith is on a part time contract and while he's played well in Cup, he is better suited to a 14 role in first grade. Camroux is nowhere near given he has played Flegg all year.
we have to go to market. in terms of being likely to be let go, Dean Hawkins, Joseph O'Neill, Brad Schneider and Toby Sexton are the most likely. if you want a loan deal, a kid like Jack Cole or Jonah Pezet may be let go on a temporary basis given the benefits of regular first grade for their development. as much as I would love Trindall, Williams, Jayden Sullivan or Lewis Dodd, all of them are pipe dreams for this year. next year is a different story.
the bye affords us the opportunity to identify and pursue a target. I just hope they don't come back empty handed. one more injury and we're literally promoting Will Smith to the top 30.
