Golf with Benji and Braith or coffee with Robbie?

I think it is pretty clear that Tedesco left for the money. To renig on that deal will cost him half a million dollars. The full extent of that decision cannot be understated. I am proud that he went with his heart and stayed but he may regret it into the future should he have ongoing injury problems.

With respect to Anasta….....we are not going to win the comp this year! We never were. There is a plan in place and Anasta's experience is part of it. I think we need to sit back and chill, and give this a bit more time to sort itself out.

Robbie really impressed me on NRL 360 last night. Firstly his guidance of Tedesco when the kid was going through turmoil in his head, and the second when they spoke about origin and he said that if we had of had a game the following weekend he would have been the first to put up his hand to play for the Tigers. He had opportunities ot leave the club for more money, but he loves the club and he stayed. That will rub off on the younger guys and has already saved us $500,000.00.

Just in regards to your point that we were never going to win the comp this year, i feel that has changed. Look at the competition, there are no standout teams. Its wide open and i think if we stay healthy we actually have a shot at it.

I agree. I don't see why we can't have a tilt at it if our key players all stay on the park at the business end of the year. If we can string a few wins together and get one past the Dogs, Easts and Penriff I'd say we have a very good chance of being competitive in the finals.

Round 17 -23 will be the key

Some tough games in that period

To have a chance we will need to finish Top 6 and you'd have to think we will have to win at least 3 of those games for a Top 6 finish

I definitely see where you are coming from. I think we have the talent and the makings of a really good footy team. I just think when we come up against those teams with an edge like Canterbury or even Penrith, I think we are going to be exposed. Our defence is not really where it needs to be, although we are generally hanging in in games which is a good thing.

We competed against the Broncos, but we never really looked like we had enough scoring potential to steal it away from them.

This weekend is a big game. The Knights are the type of team I expect us to struggle against. If we can beat them in Newcastle then my opinion might change.

I would just love to go into these games confident that we can win, like I did in the late half of 2005…

Still havent changed my opinion on the round of golf… we need to tap Anasta on the shoulder over that farce, then once in the forehead and one in each lung Mossad style to make sure its done right.

There's another side to that I think. Tedesco may have sacrificed some cash up front to salvage his future. I think that if he'd gone to the Raiders without Ennis, Proctor or Mansour, James would have made some money for a few years, then faded into obscurity. He would have put in some good individual performances on the way to a succession of wooden spoons under a lunatic coach.

A career in Canberra with no decent halves might have cost Tedesco any shot at winning a premiership, being selected for Origin, appearing on the Footy Show, becoming a Foxsport commentator and doing 30 years worth of Lowes ads in retirement.

In 10 years he would have been a 31 year old moderately wealthy forgotten cripple with no job skills post football.

Why would anybody want to play a round of golf with Anasta? Most people struggle with the game enough as it is, you don't need someone to completely humiliate you for a whole round.

Until we know what advice was offered to teddy, its all just pure speculation

Who knows all three may have advised him to stay and he chose otherwise??

Just because he initially agreed to terms with Canberra doesnt mean thats what they advised him to do

Actually I usually found that when I played golf with better players (single handicappers ) that I played a bit better

Teddy said himself that he decided to accept Canberra's offer after playing golf with Marshall, anasta and moltzen. He also said that they advised him to make the most of his short time in the nrl and used simon Dwyer as an example.
Not bagging these guys, maybe they're right but let's look at his advisers for a sec.

Benji: threw away big dollar contract with tigers to switch codes for less money, embarrasses himself and comes back for peanuts

Moltzen : most famous backflipperer in nrl history

Anasta: left his long time club roosters because he didn't want to play backrow, ultimately giving up a premiership victory

Without sounding nasty, when I look at those 3 names now, they do qualify as "has beens"

you don't get frustrated when having coffee, like you do when playing golf.

**people offer advice each day, it's up to the individual what they do with it.**
