Anyone know what age the fullback Jordan Kahu is? I thought he was coming down to the tigers next year aswell.

you check out those Keebra Vids on youtube Yossarian…..Murdoch, Lui, Kahu to name a few........

Yeah the standard and the physicality of schoolboy games these days is just incredible. If those guys continue to develop we could have some serious talent on our hands.

Thanks for the info Geo. Im very happy Kahu is coming down, watched the youtube video of their game v Palm Beach and he was outstanding. I agree with Yossarian that the physical nature of schoolboys footy is amazing, some of the hits look brutal.

KEEBRA PARK WIN ARRIVE ALIVE CUP PREMIERSHIP

Wests Tigers congratulate Keebra Park High School on its 18-12 victory over Matraville Sports High in the Arrive Alive Cup grand final today.

Keebra Park High School has a scholarship program with Wests Tigers as part of its rugby league program. Wests Tigers five-eighth and Kiwi international Benji Marshall is a product of Keebra Park High.

Wests Tigers Toyota Cup players Robert Lui, Leivaha Pulu, Sioeli Makaui and Neccrom Areaiiti are also Keebra Park boys.

Matraville Sports High winger Faleula Finau and half-back Liam Ayoub along with Keebra Park High School prop Isaac Lui and second-rower Ben Murdoch will be apart of the Wests Tigers Toyota Cup squad in 2010.

Matraville started the game on the wrong note when the ball went dead from the kick-off to give Keebra Park its first touch of the ball 32 metres out. The pressure was relieved a few tackles later when the ball was knocked on.

It got worse for Matraville when from the scrum win, they knocked on to give Keebra the ball back. The nerves were on show again when on the last tackle, a kick by Keebra acrossfield went into touch on the full.

Keebra Park opened the scoring in the sixth minute to winger Henere Wells when the ball was spread right through two hands from the scrum win for a 4-0 lead.

Full-back Jordan Kahu converted from the sideline for a 6-0 lead to Keebra Park High.

A drop ball by Kahu saw winger Faleula Finau race 65 metres before being tackled an inch short of the line next to the posts. Keebra Park were penalised for offside from the play the ball. A great shoulder charge tackle by Wells on the last tackle saw Matraville centre Haliano Saluka taken into touch.

Keebra Park jumped to a 10-0 lead when big second-rower Ben Murdoch crashed through five defenders in a powerful 15 metre run to score under the posts. Kahu converted the try for a 12-0 lead.

Murdoch’s barnstorming run would have pleased Wests Tigers coaches Tim Sheens, Royce Simmons, Peter Gentle and recruitment manager Warren McDonnell who are at the game. Murdoch is signed to the Wests Tigers Toyota Cup team next year.

Matraville Sports High had a try disallowed a minute before half-time when full-back Luke Akauola was penalised after getting up and diving over the line after being tackled.

Keebra Park held on to lead 12-0 at half-time and just 25 minutes away from their first Arrive Alive Cup premiership.

2nd Half
Matraville opened their account when lock Kyle Fraser spotted a gap to dive over in the 29th minute. Five-eighth Jacob Miller converted the try for a 12-6 scoreline.

It became 16-6 to Keebra Park High when centre Sione Akuala scored out wide after the ball was spread left through several hands. Kahu converted the try for an 18-6 scoreline.

Matraville got back to 18-10 when centre Haliano Saluka crossed over in the corner. Miller converted from the sideline for an 18-12 scoreline.

Keebra Park continued their attacking play and came close to scoring twice with Murdoch proving a real handful.

Matraville threw everything in the final two minutes and had several attacking raids at Keebra Park but were denied by some gutsy defence.

The victory was Keebra Park's first in the Arrive Alive Cup final.

For Wests Tigers supporters, they can get very excited about Ben Murdoch, a strong hard working second-rower with plenty of muscle.

Finau, Liam Ayboub tried hard for Matraville. Ayoub looks a promising half-back while Isaac Lui, another headed to Wests Tigers, went well.

Congrats to Keebra and it sounds like the Tigers have snared some promising juniors.

I heard on Talkin Sport from a Cuzzo post game report that Full-back Jordan Kahu has a Wests Tigers Contract for next year….With Jake coming through, Blake and others it looks like in the future the Custodian role for the WT team will be well and truly covered

I think I read that even though we have Kahu contracted for next season, he doesn't want to come anymore and would prefer to stay in Brisbane and the Broncos have swooped in and offered him a contract. Tigers want him to honour their contract though. I guess thats why the club have gone a little quiet on him.

WESTS Tigers are refusing to back down in a tug-of-war with the Broncos for young fullback Jordan Kahu who yesterday led Keebra Park to the Gold Coast School's first Arrive Alive Cup title.
>
The Kiwi product won the Peter Sterling Medal for the best player in the national schoolboy competition as Keebra held on to beat Matraville Sports High 18-12 in a thriller at ANZ stadium in Sydney.
>
Keebra led 12-0 at the break after tries to winger Henere Wells and barnstorming backrower Ben Murdoch.
>
Centre Sione Akaula scored after the break to make it 18-6 before Matraville fought back.
>
It was the third straight final for Matraville but after winning in 2007 they've now lost the past two to Gold Coast schools after being rolled by Keebra's arch rivals Palm Beach-Currumbin last year.
>
"PBC are our biggest rivals and when we beat them we didn't want to slack out and lose and not win the Australian title," said Kahu.
>
"Inside I was scared but I wasn't going to give up and I'm sure all the boys were thinking the same."
>
Kahu now hopes to follow the lead of the likes of Benji Marshall and be the next star to come out of Keebra Park: "It's always been my dream to play at the highest level of any sport. Hopefully NRL is my next step up."
>
The question now is who's colours will he be wearing next year.
>
Kahu wants to join the Broncos so he can stay close to his father Dave on the Gold Coast but Wests Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell claimed the Sydney club had an option on his services and expected him to honour the deal and head to them along with prop Isaac Lui and secondrower Ben Murdoch.
\
\
"We're not happy. We've looked after him for two years," said McDonnell.
>
"We brought him down to our camp and all of a sudden another club wants to come in and take him.
>
"We have an option on him for next year. We've taken it up and expect him to come down."
>
The tug-of-war for Kahu couldn't take any of the gloss off the win for Keebra's veteran coach Greg Lenton.
>
Lenton is celebrating his 30th year at Keebra.
>
"It's a great thing for the school – it's a great school," said Lenton, who was delighted to get the monkey off the back.
>
"That was always commented on and we'd played a lot of Queensland finals and got through to a few Australians but hadn't got one so it's nice to finally get one.
>
"I've always enjoyed working with the boys and seeing the boys develop and go on and play and also develop good characters.
>
"It hasn't always been about winning the national title, that's not what motivated me but I'm not saying it's not nice to get one."
>
Keebra got a good start when six minutes in quick hands saw winger Wells score from a scrum while five from the break Murdoch beat five defenders to score.
>
Matraville fired up after half-time and shortly after a spilt bomb their lock Kyle Fraser scored.
>
Keebra fans were able to breathe easier when centre Sione Akaula scored shortly after and Kahu landed the extras from the sideline.
>
Centre Haliano Saluka scored late for Matraville to make it a nervous final 10 minutes before Keebra could finally celebrate.

Typical broncos. Wait till a player has signed an agreement ith another club then think they can just come in and ignore it. They did the same thing with Taumata and Dave Taylor.

I'm curious guys…

I remembered reading an article about Benji's bro's coming through Keebra a while ago, so I did some digging... here it is.

http://www.leaguehq.com.au/news/news/the-mother-of-all-dynasties/2007/11/03/1193619201279.html

Going off this, Benji's bro, Jordan, should be coming through Keebra about now...

Anyone else thinking that Jordan Kahu is actually Benji's bro??????
