GOOD LUCK TO KEEBRA PARK HIGH

Possibly Danos..

The reason why I thought it was possible was that I heard Benji's dad walked out when he was young, and there is a decent age gap, so thought they might have had a different father..
….or to keep out of the spotlight.

BUT, on second thoughts, I don't think it can be. I couldn't imagine that he would even think about signing with the broncos rather than playing in the Tigers with his bro.

Hopefully Danos is right and he is playing touch, but going by the age of the article, and his age, he should be at the point of getting signed to NYC.

I think more so that he probably has chosen a different career path.. which would be a shame, because it would be awesome to see a Marshall dynasty at the Tigers!

If Jordan Marshall is still going well at Keebra he'll probably be in the team next year as most of those blokes are 18 & he;d only be 17 still..

The weight of expectation of having to play with the marshall name might not sit well with his brother. Jordan might prefer to want to make it on his own merits instead of Benji's!!

Keebra arrive as new champions

**WESTS Tigers are refusing to back down in a tug-of-war with the Broncos for young fullback Jordan Kahu who yesterday led Keebra Park to the Gold Coast School's first Arrive Alive Cup title.**The Kiwi product won the Peter Sterling Medal for the best player in the national schoolboy competition as Keebra held on to beat Matraville Sports High 18-12 in a thriller at ANZ stadium in Sydney.
>
Keebra led 12-0 at the break after tries to winger Henere Wells and barnstorming backrower Ben Murdoch.
>
Centre Sione Akaula scored after the break to make it 18-6 before Matraville fought back.
>
It was the third straight final for Matraville but after winning in 2007 they've now lost the past two to Gold Coast schools after being rolled by Keebra's arch rivals Palm Beach-Currumbin last year.
>
"PBC are our biggest rivals and when we beat them we didn't want to slack out and lose and not win the Australian title," said Kahu.
>
"Inside I was scared but I wasn't going to give up and I'm sure all the boys were thinking the same."
>
Kahu now hopes to follow the lead of the likes of Benji Marshall and be the next star to come out of Keebra Park: "It's always been my dream to play at the highest level of any sport. Hopefully NRL is my next step up."
>
**The question now is who's colours will he be wearing next year.\
\
Kahu wants to join the Broncos so he can stay close to his father Dave on the Gold Coast but Wests Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell claimed the Sydney club had an option on his services and expected him to honour the deal and head to them along with prop Isaac Lui and secondrower Ben Murdoch.\
\
"We're not happy. We've looked after him for two years," said McDonnell.\
\
"We brought him down to our camp and all of a sudden another club wants to come in and take him.\
\
"We have an option on him for next year. We've taken it up and expect him to come down."**
The tug-of-war for Kahu couldn't take any of the gloss off the win for Keebra's veteran coach Greg Lenton.
>
Lenton is celebrating his 30th year at Keebra.
>
"It's a great thing for the school – it's a great school," said Lenton, who was delighted to get the monkey off the back.
>
"That was always commented on and we'd played a lot of Queensland finals and got through to a few Australians but hadn't got one so it's nice to finally get one.
>
"I've always enjoyed working with the boys and seeing the boys develop and go on and play and also develop good characters.
>
"It hasn't always been about winning the national title, that's not what motivated me but I'm not saying it's not nice to get one."
>
Keebra got a good start when six minutes in quick hands saw winger Wells score from a scrum while five from the break Murdoch beat five defenders to score.
>
Matraville fired up after half-time and shortly after a spilt bomb their lock Kyle Fraser scored.
>
Keebra fans were able to breathe easier when centre Sione Akaula scored shortly after and Kahu landed the extras from the sideline.
>
Centre Haliano Saluka scored late for Matraville to make it a nervous final 10 minutes before Keebra could finally celebrate.

Typical broncos. Wait till a player has signed an agreement ith another club then think they can just come in and ignore it. They did the same thing with Taumata and Dave Taylor.

I'm amazed the Titans haven't starting sniffing around. They are vultures…

Anyway we're talking tough so hopefully he'll get over it soon enough and we'll see him next year.

I will be very dissapointed if we get outmuscled by the Broncos for this Kid….

Wests Tigers have put a lot of money and effort into him so far......

Exactly. Although as near as I can tell its just a small story in a Gold Coast paper so not sure how much there is to the story. Maybe JK mentioned he'd like to play for Brisbane and then the journo rings of Warren Mc and says Brisbane are interested in JK. Not much at this stage to suggest Bris are doing actively doing anything about it.

Let's hope its a non story.

I hope it's a non-story. The Tigers are recruiting and developing some very good junior talent and this Kahu kid sounds like a keeper if he stays focused and continues to develop.

From the little I've seen, this player is an exceptional junior with enormous potential.

The quotes attributed to Mr McDonnell (where he omits to mention Kahu coming to us in 2010) concern me.
If it was a non-story, the quote would have been much more definate and positive.

Still hoping though that all is AOK.

I was talking to some one very close to broncos today and he told me j kahu is going to the ponies for sure :brick:

Seems pretty clear cut to me.

Sounds to me like even if he does join us next year, he'll leave in '11.

No point wasting time developing him if thats the case.

Things can change a lot in a year. If he comes down gets established, makes friends at the club he may forget all about it and the Broncs might have moved on. Certainly don't think it would be a waste of time but I'd be trying to get a contract out of him pretty soon next year if he warrants it.

MURDOCH THE REAL DEAL
By Wayne Cousins
Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Keebra Park High School rugby league coach coach Greg Lenton has predicted a very bright future for Wests Tigers bound second-rower Ben Murdoch.
>
Lenton has seen plenty of talent in his 30 years at the school and has overseen the rugby league development of former students Benji Marshall, Ben Te’o and Robert Lui as part of Keebra Park’s rugby league scholarship program with Wests Tigers. Marshall, Te’o and Lui all made their NRL debuts at Wests Tigers.
>
Keebra Park broke through for its first Arrive Alive Cup premiership title with an 18-12 victory over favourites Matraville Sports High at ANZ Stadium last Friday night. Murdoch will join Keebra Park prop Isaac Lui, Matraville high half-back Liam Ayoub and Matraville winger Faleula Fina at Wests Tigers in 2010.
>
Wests Tigers also have an option for 2010 on Keebra Park full-back and the Peter Sterling Medal winner Jordan Kahu
>
**Lenton is confident Murdoch can make it in the NRL. His barnstorming first half try in which he left five defenders behind him had Wests Tigers officials and supporters salivating.\
\
“Ben Murdoch is going to be one of the best back-rowers in the game. He is one of the best young forwards I have ever seen,’’ Lenton said.\
\
“His explosiveness and his speed off the mark is incredible. He has soft hands, good discipline and a fantastic attitude.\
\
“I believe Ben can do phenomenal things in the game. He is going to be something special.”\
\
Lenton said Lui – no relation to Robert Lui - was another young kid with plenty of ability.\
\
“If I could pick a player to go to battle with, it would be Isaac Lui. He is just the most dedicated, hard working and tough as nails forward I’ve seen,’’ he said.\
\
“He never complains, never says boo. You have to whip him to get him out of the gym. If I started a small business tomorrow, I would hire Isaac and I would never have to worry again. He is a great kid.”**
>
Moments after congratulating his players on their premiership victory, Lenton praised Wests Tigers for its dedication to the school.
>
“Wests Tigers have given Keebra Park tremendous support and that was long before the Titans were on the Gold Coast,’’ Lenton said.
>
“The school was down and out in 2000 and was going nowhere with its rugby league program. I approached a few NRL clubs and nobody wanted to know me. Then Wests Tigers approached us. They stuck with us when we were only small.
>
“Wests Tigers came on board through Steve Lavers initially. Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell and Tim Sheens have since been very supportive. Without Warren and Tim, I don’t know where the school’s rugby league program would be today. And without Wests Tigers, Keebra Park would not be celebrating this victory.”

salivating…..this Wests Tigers supporter certainly is.......

Murdoch is a FREAK
