Was there a play on call after a double knock for a few years? I might be thinking of ESL.

Do you mean double knock on or double knock play the ball....
double knock on would result in a scrum with the feed to the opposition..
double knock play the ball also resulted in a scrum with the feed to the opposition..
hope that helps gallager...

I thought I remembered that if Wests knocked on then a manly picking up the ball knocked it on with west regathering it was play on.

Trying to explain this using Wests and Manly players is so confusing. Aren’t Wests and manly players one and the same?
Sorry
Too soon?

Ooooooooooh you are so close to getting the first negative rep I have ever given on this forum.....

On my command, unleash hell!!

Gawd! What have I done! It’s taken me 2 years on here to gain the confidence to throw that one out. Maybe on further consideration...

Quick, say something nasty about Arko or Bozo

Hate Fulton - always have from his days on 2GB. Arrogant bum used to bag people with lines like, “have you ever played the game?”

I don't know how the old Magpies fans feel about this but I really hated the way he treated Brohman over the Les Boyd elbow and aftermath.

You can be an annoying ratbag like Tommy Raudonikis was on the field @cochise and become a living legend loved by all.... but on the other hand you can be like Les Boyd and still despised by most for good reason, which is such a pity as he was a Magpies great and apparently a nice guy off the field.

My first reading of this post and I thought you were referring to me lol, it sounded right if you were!!!

It seems I have a bad habit of not getting my message across as I intend it @cochise.
My apologies mate, most certainly wasn't aimed at you.

So Bellamy and Maguire were average players. So what? They are outstanding coaches. I was talking about Fulton yesterday and what an arrogant prick he was because he felt if you weren’t a superstar you weren’t worthy of an opinion on footy. Judge people on their efforts in their chosen areas or areas of ability. That’s my opinion anyway

Thank you @trentrunciman, it's nice to be back....particularly as the standard of posts generally seem to have gone up dramatically.
Maybe its due to the fact I was booted out for a while, therefore the standard couldn't go any other way but up during that time.
No such problem with your posts tho Mate, as yours are always A+ standard.

No need to apologise, I miss read it the first time. I would have also found it funny if that was what you meant! lol

Nuh....wasn't meant to be a funny reply @cochise.
I was simply replying to your post about how old Wests Magpies fans feel about Les Boyd re The now Big Marn and was comparing Tommy to Boyd.
I guess I misused the word 'you' [not meaning you>cochise] or just put it in the wrong place.
But I realise now I am an expert in 'not' using my words propa,
therefore not getting my message over as I meant it.

nice to see you back legend!

Thank you @trentrunciman, it's nice to be back....particularly as the standard of posts generally seem to have gone up dramatically.
Maybe its due to the fact I was booted out for a while, therefore the standard couldn't go any other way but up during that time.
No such problem with your posts tho Mate, as yours are always A+ standard.

stay safe big man!

Former Eastern Suburbs five-eighth Gary Warnecke shares a great yarn about his first grade debut

No rugby league player ever forgets his debut - but for former Eastern Suburbs five-eighth Gary Warnecke his maiden outing in the top grade was nothing short of terrifying.

After a brief appearance from the bench in 1979, Warnecke made his starting debut the following year against the most feared team of the era - the dreaded Western Suburbs Magpies.

And before a ball was kicked in the game at the old Sydney Sports Ground, the Magpies made their intentions for Warnecke very clear.

“We ran out first and were standing in a circle warming up when Wests took the field,” Warnecke recalled.

“I was a bundle of nerves, minding my own business, when (Wests prop) John Donnelly ran straight at me, spat in my face and said ‘You’re dead’.

“I was stunned… I shit myself. He got to me.”

Fortunately for Warnecke, he got over that pre-match ‘spray’ to shine for the Roosters.

He scored the try that turned the match as the Roosters won a brutal encounter, and went on to have a fine career, including playing in that year’s grand final.

And Warneke himself went on to play for the Wests Magpies in 1985.
