Was there a play on call after a double knock for a few years? I might be thinking of ESL.

Do you mean double knock on or double knock play the ball....
double knock on would result in a scrum with the feed to the opposition..
double knock play the ball also resulted in a scrum with the feed to the opposition..
hope that helps gallager...

I thought I remembered that if Wests knocked on then a manly picking up the ball knocked it on with west regathering it was play on.

Trying to explain this using Wests and Manly players is so confusing. Aren’t Wests and manly players one and the same?
Sorry
Too soon?

Ooooooooooh you are so close to getting the first negative rep I have ever given on this forum.....

On my command, unleash hell!!

Gawd! What have I done! It’s taken me 2 years on here to gain the confidence to throw that one out. Maybe on further consideration...

Hate Fulton - always have from his days on 2GB. Arrogant bum used to bag people with lines like, “have you ever played the game?”

Didn't watch too many Wests v Manly games in the 70's I take it..

Anything below the head was deemed illegal...

I don't know what the judiciary in their games would do but we were told by the ref when we lined up before kickoff...anything at shoulder height or above is deemed dangerous and send off would more than likely be the result..

I know in the old Winfield cup days some of the blokes got away with murder so to speak...some didn't either...

The only time I remember that being a rules was in the juniors!

I agree and I think the way Fulton went after him 20 years later about it was totally disgusting, I know a former Penrith player that is very close to Brohman and the damage Fulton did to him mentally with that attack is really upsetting!

I’m 45 now and have supported the Tigers since I was 5. Now attend all home games with Wife and kids. Leichhardt will always have a special place in my heart. Loved the memories of Laurie, noticing now how much the trees behind the posts and Hill have grown in 40 years. One memory I have is of the man walking around screaming “get ya double on the main game” never got close to winning on those things.

Ive won the double about 10 times over the years, 1st time was at LO against the dragons, the day Blacklock chipped over the fullback to score the match winner. I had Blacklock and Lincoln Withers in the doubles and they both scored the 1st 2 tries for their teams. I still believe that should win me double the prize lol.

Worst day I ever had at the footy was due to the doubles as well, The game at Kogarah we lost, I think, 52-0, I had Jason Moodie as the 2nd leg in the doubles, I had to sit in the poring rain on the hill as Moodie went close to scoring twice while watching us get flogged, horrible horrible day!

I won $500 on the doubles at a Parra v norths game. Billy Moore and I think Peter Johnston. I thought i had no chance.

Old days,,,watched 2005 Grand Final,,,what a spine we had Farah Prince Marshall and Hodgson,,,gee all could run kick pass,,,one of most skill full spines ....go through the spines on current teams,,,most don’t have running or kicking games we had back then

Never heard of double knock ptb

It wasn't anything really I think if you remember Ink you had to place your foot on the ball and play it back, many times players would have 2 goes at it trying to play it back,it was more fumbling than anything..resulted in a scrum...

You can be an annoying ratbag like Tommy Raudonikis was on the field @cochise and become a living legend loved by all.... but on the other hand you can be like Les Boyd and still despised by most for good reason, which is such a pity as he was a Magpies great and apparently a nice guy off the field.
