Great Effort tonight

Our defence was solid mostly but at times was as bad as it ever has been in the history of this club. I thought it was an ugly game reminiscent of U/20's all attack and little defence. Neither side played good Rugby League and both coaches should be filthy.

That said, the effort was there for 3/4 of the game and for a bunch of young blokes that's all we can ask. Long season ahead…

Like the curates egg it was good in parts. For 60 minutes of the game we looked ok but the 20 minutes in the first half when we fell to pieces in defence was a disaster. However considering the lack of ball and having all of the decisions go against us it was a decent performance

Many opposition coaches would of learnt a lot about how to beat the WTs tonight

Blame the refs all you like , they weren't great but some glaring deficiencies became clear tonight

JT now needs to try and counteract them

Apart from creating broken play from offloads and capitalising on it, what deficiencies would you say became clear?

Bombing Naiqama for one ,turning us over on the inside balls , we weren't working hard from the inside

Warriors didn't win by doing that, they won by holding the ball 94%+ in the first half and due to that their big men and momentum they got the better of us.

Week in week out its clear we generally don't chase the bombs and let the opponent catch and try and tackle them at the sametime which looks to be a defensive structure tatical play.

Happy is right with turning the ball inside though. That killed us as they made huge metres when they pulled that off.

**The speed of the Warriors play the ball in the first half was ridiculous, and the refs let them walk forward off the mark giving them another 10 metres per set.** Overall we are definitely a better structured team but allot of us have to accept the days of brilliant attacking football may be over for a while. We are going to grind out wins and only the odd flash of the past.
Refs were shocking again tonight, time for AI to replace them!

Yeah the loss would've been a lot easier to swallow if we were given the same leeway as they were. What gives the refs the right to be so one-sided at this level? I would've thought that '**how to adjudicate a game fairly**' would be basic learning in ref's school. I'm so naive :unamused:
