GREAT WIN

BIG FELLA 62

Hi Everyone!
Long time podcast listener, first post! I0 have been following Wests Tigers since 2000 so have ridden a few highs and many more lows!! I often tell people who ask me who our most effective recent buy is, and I tell them it's Richo. But listening to the guys discuss letting TDS go at this stage of the season makes me wonder if his focus is more on the "bottom line" of the club and not so much its performances on the field. He has got us into great shape and yesterday's win over the Roosters shows there is a lot of fight in the current playing group. The only way we will get more calls going our way and get the click bait, attention seeking media off our backs is to start winning games consistently not having the best bottom line!

Mate, love your username, but in relation to the bottom line, we are one of the most, if not the most, under resourced clubs in the NRL. The bottom line helps us level the playing field when it comes to those resources.

I'm not so sure we are building a war chest but more playing chess with the cap. I expect that there is a combination of front loading to t provide cap space in later years along with cash availability. I expect Richo is beating his chest to ensure that the player managers continue to hear that we have cash to spend.

If I have it right we have met out Top 30 requirements so we need to forward load and spend 95% of the cap. We then have more space available down the track - we can only do this so many times though. Once we become a more attactive club then there are more TPA deals around to win over more high calibre players.

This is why Richo is so bullish on the corporates - none of us unwashed members are liekly to provide a TPA for a player (unless we crowd funded it somehow). That is where the real game is played - unless you have a supply of brown paper bags from a benevolent supporter or some other off the books way to attract talent.

You know what...crowdfunded TPA isn't such a bad idea.

Far more supporters than members out there...perhaps you could get it to 100k with the club promoting it.

It would take a while to get off the ground, but you could start with promising juniors with a small pot and go from there if it gets traction.

A way for us fans to "own" the club.

mmm Tino Fa'asuamaleaui sponsored by the Wests Tigers Forum - do you think we get coporate seats at the game? Not sure how we would raffle off the seats at home games.

Probably have to start a little lower - but not a bad idea. I wonder hwo the club would take that approach?
