Greg Bird - the good and the bad

He really needs to cut his mistakes, so far in game 1 and 2 he has made errors that ruin our momentum in attack :/

He's worth his spot. His aggression in defence is a big advantage for NSW

He runs the ball hard as well. I like him when he doesnt puss out and try to penalty pull. He has been good for the Blues just about every game he has ever played.

He certainly grows an extra leg when running out for the Blues - that's why I predicted he would be man of the match in another thread. It's almost guaranteed when NSW win. That said, Farah must've been close to getting it tonight.

I like him but I didn't think he was great tonight.

For sure he is good. Wears his heart on his sleeve and plays hard the whole game. In my opinion Uate is the ugly. Cost us game 1 and was hopeless tonight. He has to go but I'm sure they won't change the team.

If he is fit, he is a must for the Blues. I have never seen him play a bad game for NSW, no matter how poor his club form has been.

idk how he kicks, but i would put him at 5/8 and carney at 7\. our attack atm is horrible. pearce offers nothing. before i used to think, pearce is a controlling halfback, but i dont think he is. he was nowhere to be seen in the last 10 minutes. a controlling halfback would be there turning players inside out and making sure the forwards are running hard on to the ball HE DELIEVERS.

bird would make a great running 5/8\. he would put the defense in two minds EVERYTIME he has the ball no doubt. if he has the no.6 on his back, defenders are more likely to fall for his dummies.

just my opinion though. dont see it happening.

Its not all about stats, some of those tackles from Bird were big ones that forced errors and I can't recall all his errors but I do remember 1 of them wasn't his fault Carney or Pierce shouldn't have thrown the pass

Yeah thats right…

Bird was super aggressive, ran hard and played almost the full 80.
Lewis had an enormous game of the bench. He smashed everything in sight , ran hard and chased.
Smith also played well for mine. He was heavily involved and made some huge momentum turning plays.
Gallen was Gallen. Tried his arse off all game.
Hannant, Scott, Tamou..big boys making big meters.
Tate and Slater played like warriors whilst very obviously injured.

For mine Farah was top of the pile but geeze he had some competition out there.

I thought Bird was MOM. He dropped a ball or two but seemed to be in the thick of the biggest hits and best hit-ups. Don't get me wrong I can't stand the guy at club level, but he has a Timmy Brasher type ability to perform for Origin regardless of club form.
