Rumors going around that he might be available, if so he cant be wanting much as he is 30 he still has 2-3 more years and would bring so much experience to our players.

Im in the minority here, but I dont rate Bird much as a player. He does what he does well, but he makes a lot of mistakes and gives away a lot of penalties, these change momentum so much in the modern game, it more than undoes his good work.

Not many teams he plays in win very often, I reckon he is part of the cause
 
Absolutely despise the man, but as a footballer, he just might be the kind of hard-edged (read "dirty"), player this team needs. Someone who doesn't mind giving out a bit. We need to change the mentality of this team, and he'd be a start. So, a guarded 'yes' from me.
 
The guy we should be going after to give us experience is Sam Thaiday… He would bring Energy; Quick PTB; Grub Element and allow us to use him in rotation with Taupau, maintaining the energy we lose when he goes off. Both could play tight or on an edge if needed.

Yep couldn't agree more, Watto! I'd love to have Sam here - would take him over Bird any day and while they're at it, they can sign up Alex Glenn as well.

I've always had a good laugh at the 'no dickhead policy' sentiment… I have always assumed it was a policy created by the fans.

I'd hope the club has a Buy the Best Players Policy!

You know it's funny, I don't like the guy, but people don't want him because he's a grub, not because he can't play footy.

As if the cleanskins we have on deck are tearing up the comp.

I understand the "no DH" idea, but guys like Thaiday, Bird, Myles, Watmough, Hodges get picked in rep sides for a reason.
