Groat Broken Thumb.

It is a bit harsh to be celebrating any players injury.

Groat was great the back end of last season in the NYC comp. His confidence seems to be shot to hell after he was put at starting prop, he has talent and class and as such will be back

I really hope we retain groat. He undoubtedly has the potential to be a very good prop however was thrown into full time first grade by sheens way too early, especially in a starting spot.

Our lack of props and woods remarkable rise in first grade placed unrealistic expectations on him.

Lets not forget he was promoted well before he was ready because we went into the season far too light on the front row. Whatever confidence he did have has vapourised since Te'o knocked him out. A shadow of his former self even in the NYC.

He'll be back better than ever, just needs time to get his mojo back.

Get better Groat. No one likes to hear about injuries.

Appears to have talent but whether that talent translates to a successful NRL is yet to be determined.

Based on what I have seen of him in his limited NRL career I am happy if he is not resigned for next year but wish him all the best and hope he has a successful career.

In my opinion he appears to small for a current NRL player (I know players like Glenn Grief were small but different era)

One thing - I bet Groat has played more NRL than any one on the forum combined.

I saw him at Mac square one night before the season, he is tall, but he is wider, I think this makes him look small on tv. He isn't. I think he needs a year in reserve grade and then a year of the bench in nrl and don't rush him. And hopefully he can expect to be paid accordingly.

I think the Teo hit has really smashed his confidence. We brought him on way too quickly. I just hope we stick by him for the immediate future

I recall Gibbsie taking a while to get his confidence back after being levelled by O'Meley.

The kids is only 20 , you cant compare him to woods , woods is a freak
Front rowers don't mature until there about 23/24 years old
He didn't make Australian schoolboys two years in a row for nothing
Give him some time and he will come good
