Groat

Has potential for sure. Hopefully a year in State Cup points him in the right direction

Yep, has potential. Can't expect to throw a rookie into a starting position while the team is going crap, and say "sink or swim". Depending on our front row/bench next year, spending a year on the fringe would only help.

Certainly has become the forgotten man at the Tigers

If he can work hard on his lateral movement and improve his general mobility he should be a solid NRL player in the future

His other issue is the comparisons with Woods ,Woods is a freak to put it mildly and could end up as one of the greatest props of all time

I think at the same age Woods is as good if not better than Lazarus

Rudolph's form dropped off dramatically in the back end of the season. With Kurtis Rowe returning from injury, and being the Aus Schoolboys fullback, Payten had the depth to replace him. Add to that the emergence of Mulcahy in the halves and there were just too many well performing players ahead of him to justify selection.

Marshall finished off the end of the season in Bundy Cup.

With Marshall playing bundy cup does that mean they're trying to toughen him up for some first grade next year?

I think Groat still has plenty of potential and still think he will play plenty more NRL (with us or elsewhere)

He was asked to do too much too early, partially because of the Galloway injury. His first stint in most games was normally pretty decent, his second stint when a little bit tired saw his deficiencies highlighted.

Happy tiger thats an excellant point u make about Woods. Its a once in a lifetime chance to have a 20 year old front rower so good, so to hope for 2 in the one team is unheard of and i believe Groat has copped more critism due to Woods being so good.

Gibbs took a long time to really start performing well regularly and Groat will be the same.

Good point Sirro.Front row in first grade is where men will always show up boys.Groat is still a baby and can still grow into a fine first grade prop.It just takes toughness and desire.Just goes to show with woods himself still a baby in props years how well he is going and hopefully with the right attitude will keep going.

Groat was forever unfairly compared to Woods on here early

I have no doubt that Groat has a big part to play for us in the future it is just a matter of patience. He is very young and will do the job in the future

I've never compared Groat to Woods. I've compared him to every opposing prop and he has be found wanting. I like all your loyalty but he's no good in my opinion.
