Bird will move into 5th spot on all time suspended players (total wks out ). Combine this with his off field antics (glassing/urinating/drugs/etc) and you have a tainted career. I know he deserves due process for recent incidents but I don't think he should have been rewarded an Aussie Jersey on the weekend. Surely we have the talent pool to blood a new bloke.

David Williams was 26 weeks also for betting and Paul Gallen copped 6 months from ASADA although he barely missed a game.

I guess they're looking at the guys on the same amount of weeks as one line. Won't matter though, Bird will probably surpass Stevens and Morley and perhaps even be equal with Williams when this next suspension is handed down.

Don't know how many weeks Burns got in one suspension, but the records I found have Hopoate and Clint Newtown as top with 12 weeks each for a single discretion. Then there are a couple of others at 11 and 10 weeks - no mention of Burns though, so it must've been shorter.

Burns got 10 weeks from memory for his high shot on Martin Kennedy-perhaps he was just trying to belt the 'roids outta him. Didn't Hoppa get 16 weeks for his hit on Galloway, not 12? He never played again after that suspension got handed down anyhow.
