Gus Gould questions the pairing of Brooks and Moses..

GCT - Drinkwater wasn't up to it and if rumours are correct he is on his way to the UK. Moses will be a very good player for WTs and no doubt Gus would be playing him in the NRL if he were at the Panthers albeit with a different game plan.

There was no intention of seeing if he was up to it,
As has been well documented, that was also the reason that Austin left
Drinkwater was never given the chance , but he was certainly up to it in the trials and was not overshadowed by Brooks or Moses in them

Our present 5/8 hasn't proved up to it yet either, and there is very little in his game that has improved over the season. No matter how hard the faithful search for something.

As for the Gus conspiracy theory , the panthers have made it clear that in the future Moylan May be their 5/8, ( may or may not happen now that we have given themMartin )that may change.
I can promise you one thing, if he was at Penrith and Gould had any say in it, he would not have been thrown to the Sharks like they have been here
If every player that Gus comments on, is someone that he wants to Poach, they'll need 3 or 4 salary caps, to accomodate them all,
You may have not noticed , but it's his job
And I think I'd put more faith in his opinion of a player than I would in JT , or this club , any day of the week

Just my humble opinion, but I think he's looking heaps better in recent weeks. The more he is involved the better he plays.

I strongly doubt it , but I'll be happy if you are right

I agree…more involved = greater confidence = cannot be bad thing, time and another off season or two will give more confidence experience size and ability, the defense will come, he has a good attitude imo

Gee, I wish I worked for the Telegraph. I could just take any throwaway line that Gus says during a game and turn it into an "article".

Is GoldCoast Tiger Drinkwater's dad? Seems extremely bitter and unable to take his bias glasses off and see that in fact Moses has been in our top 2 players the past month or two!

Scoring tries, setting up tries, kicking 40/20s, geez what a crap player

The problem is we are playing two kids in the major spine positions. If you had either one inside or outside a Thurston,Foran or say a Maloney they would be thriving but at present they are struggling. If I had to split them I think Moses is the better player and would be probably better suited to the no7 jumper. Anyway they will both make the grade and I think 2016 should see them start to come on in leaps and bounds (a rare positive thought about 2016)

Tonight's game will be interesting. Expected to lose, I wonder if a reduction in pressure or relaxation of structures will allow Brooks and Moses to play a more free style.

Exactly..this was pointed out before the season started, they will have their good games & their not so good games but overall will struggle and be easy meat for the established 1st graders.
After saying that they are playing behind a struggling FWD pack.

No, but I'm not the head of the Moses and Taylor fan club either.id just rather see players get positions on merit, and actually have to earn a first grade jumper

Obviously you only read the posts that suit you.
I have made it clear in most posts that i dont blame the halves for the problems they we are having, my opinion is that its the Club and the Coaches fault for expecting two rookies to be able to do this job, at this stage. With this team.

AS far as being bitter, not sure where that came from, as i have also made it clear that i hope im wrong about Moses.
Your comment that Moses has been in our two top players over the last two months , is more than a bit biased and i dont think even his most rabid supporters would push that one too much( maybe its you with the biased glasses)
His game last week was better in patches and his game against the dogs, was also good, but the stats that you used in your post are exagerated, to say the least, but did sound good,
rather than scoring tries willy nilly, according to nrl.com, hes scored 3 tries since the years start 3 line breaks
68 missed tackles…... Worse than Brooks, and between them, the worst pair in the league.
Hardly setting the world on fire.
Oh yes ....and 1 40 \20
I have never said that Moses wont make it, or Brooks either, as I dont know whether they will or not.
Unfortunately i dont have your personal line to the Footy Gods, otherwise Id know exactly whats going to happen with them both,( as some here appear to)
So for now ill just have to go with my opinion, which oddly enough is worth about as much as yours is

Gus has an ulterior motive.

He is trying to destabilize the team and confuse the player so that he goes to Penrith as back up for their ageing halves.

These young guys can play. The only way you learn is from mistakes.

Short term pain, long term gain.

A decade of dominance is about to dawn on the NRL.

The player who should have guided Brooks and Moses into NRL is playing half back for the bloody Dragons right now. Benji someone…

This is a really good post. Moses and Brooks can play. I think we should all sit back and enjoy their footballing education.

Can we start with passing . Chapter 1

I recall Benji making many mistakes GCT. There were doubts as to whether he would make it due to his injuries. Moses and Brooks are just the same except they don't have Prince to guide them in the NRL. I just enjoy watching them play.

While I'll agree with you , that having Prince was a big help to Marshall when he was younger, and I've said all along that the club has been dumb by putting them in firsts at the same time, but are you seriously comparing Moses to Marshall ????
Marshall always had some mistakes in him right through his career,
But right from day one , he had a sidestep that was the biggest I've ever seen in the game, (even bigger than Brad Fittler had. ), That, allied with blistering speed, left opposition players with no idea of where he was going.
Scott Prince has even Said himself that even he , didn't know that half the time , but that once he got through , no one was going to pick him up
Despite some Marshalls faults, he was a freak in attack at the same age , or younger than Moses.
Moses had enough pressure on his game already, , without people comparing him to Benjii
