Halves coach?

Specialist coaches for one position are overrated. I'm sure Cleary and his assistants will be sufficiant enough. Brooks has 2 years or its time to pull the plug.

Of course they are it didnt work for Manly, Storm or Roosters!

Penrith have brought Brandy Alexander in to work with the halves,
How come we have had Halves problems for years, and still do, yet we still haven't employed a specialist Halves Coach to work with Brooks/Moses/Lolohea.
Other clubs see the value in that. But we don't.
Maybe we could save a little of the money that we've throwing around at the moment , and investing some on the biggest problem that the club has had over the last few years
No point of complaining about their ordinary halves, then not giving them the Coaching that may help them.
Gus and Andrew Johns even gave the club some free advice about that last week.

I'd prefer we get a specialist defence coach in

Haven't we had one for years ? Wasn't that Kidwell's job ?

Personally I'd love to see a halves coach so that Brooks and whoever else we have there gets extra support to improve their games.

99% of your half's play is instinctive. Its something they have developed since u8s. If they get to FG and need a x player to give them guidance they probably are not the real deal. A football brain your born with and execution of your skills comes with hours and hours of reparation.

Iam not a great fan of having a million coaches. Maybe a head coach and a couple of assistants tops.

WT have invested heavily in Brooks and with running 5/8s Reynolds, Tui, Watson he has to perform otherwise we will flounder. I'd bring in Johns or Kimmorley as a mentor.

I think we will see a clean out of assistant coaches and other people around the club at season end , Cleary will bring in his own group and set the club up exactly how he wants it

I think that the club needs to prioritise the signing of two new quality back rowers and two new quality props. Additional coaches aren't going to help if we haven't a competitive forward pack. It is so plain to see. The club must act otherwise we could again be bottom two in 2018.

Not sure who said a million coaches were needed.
I seem to remember a certain Cooper Cronk getting some assistance from Matt Johns , and both him andJoey have worked with other clubs in the Nrl.
If the best Coach in the Nrl thinks it's a good idea, maybe it might be a fair idea for us as well.

I said two years ago that our halves needed help, and they still do.
Someone with the experience that a top half has had, could be a big difference to a young halfback.
It's certainly a better way to go rather than just constantly whinging about our crook halves
We've certainly got nothing to lose, as we've certainly got halves who need any help that's possible
And as far as Kidwell is concerned,he was defence coach, and our halves have a lot more problems than that
But,we can always just sit back and pay out a motza to a half that's ineffectual in games.
That's working well

Read recently that Jamie Soward is keen on a coaching roll.
He is one I would really consider.
Was recruited by Cleary and moved on by Griffin so you wouldn't think there would be hard feelings.
Also funnily is friends with Justin Pascoe.
