Hard Predictions for 2023

Come one come all. Step up Loud on your Soapbox and give us your predictions for 2023.

Mine are:

We will be Nr9 with Souths, Easts, Storm, Cronulla, Cowboys, Parra and Penrith Making the 8. Suspect the Dogs, Dolphins or someone else will get that last 8th spot.

Hastings will help Newcastle a little. Give some stability in the halves but they won't break the 8. If Newcastle beat the Tigers on the Ladder then we made some very wrong decisions.

We will score high (duh).

Our structure will be a mess. People will play off the cuff football but we will see bad options chosen with people going for the line too early. It will come down to Brooks or Moses's team management and if our pack can push us forward (I think it will).

Highest Scorer will be Staines, Followed by Naden then Nofo. Laurie will be involved in a stack of tries and the Laurie + Naden + Staines back end combo will be awesome.

Sibs to be under the pump at Manly

Man child O'Brien to be sacked at Newcastle

The Dragqueens players have an all in brawl at a team bonding BBQ after going on a losing streak


The Dragon's coach to be sacked

Tim Sheenius to win Dally M coach of the year Tigers to make the 8

Dessie to end up at either Dragons or Newcastle as head coach

Nofo to finish the year in reserve grade

Bula to win Rookie of the year

Tigers fans to sing Kumbaya at the last home game of the

We have the 9, we have the forwards. Brooks will do ok but unless a 1 or 6 step up we are also rans again.

I’m betting Laurie will be great this year.
Id love to see the way he played against the Cowboys in Townsville last year to become the norm.

I agree give him a decent go forward pack and I think he'll go great
Confident we have a decent pack ,Full back and Wingers .Douehi is classy and maybe our much maligned no 7 might finally create with room to move . If he doesn't he's finished . Our center pairing is a mystery and maybe a weak link and I would go with Naden and Tommy Talau assuming he is really fit again
Kenny would need to prove his incessant niggles are a thing of the past and if not Staines should partner Nofo on the wings

Looks like Staines will start the season on the wing. Be interesting if it's noff or Ken that moves

Yep. Remember how much utterly brain dead football has been played over the past couple of seasons. It’s going to take a while to turn that around.

TIG bitty Tuki steps up to first grade and plays 20 plus games

Talau cements his place in the team, but still drops some good ball to him

Brooks a lot better with Papalili next to him, more time running and less time tackling (hopefully)

We make 12/13th, losing alot of games by 1 point

Reserve grade Magpies get pumped every second game

I must say I am feeling more confident by the day that my Dragqueens prediction will be true
