if storm run with
7 C Smith
9 H Grant
14 B Smith
they can probably win the comp with Munster fit at 6

It’s Grants only chance if he wants to be considered for an origin spot.

I reckon Brandon is looking for an excuse to move to the Warriors. It’s also a possibility that Grant could return to Storm before the finals which could mean we get Momers back.

I dont think that's the way the deal was set up Harry's not on loan from Melbourne he signed a contract to play with WT'S for 2020 and has a contract for 2021 to go back to Melbourne and MOMERS won't play again this year due to hand injury

Technically you’re right, was too hard for the NRL to do an actual Loan

Maybe allow Grant to go back to Storm now we still pay his contact then next year we get JAC, Momo's and keep Talau and Storm appreciate our kind gesture. Cameron Smith has to announce his retirement so Storm can keep their young guns for 2021. Smith will end up running the NRL in the future.

Who knows where the Storm embarrassment of riches at No 9 ends?
Logically they should all be starters each and every week

I'm guessing the Storm want Harry and Cam could stuff that up but he feels it is his choice but maybe it's not

If I'm forced to pick I'd say Cam to the Gold Coast could be a real possibility, then Harry is the Storm hooker for the 2020s leaving Brandon Smith open to all offers, not necessarily back to NZ, he left there as a teenager and has since been in FNQ and then the deep south so he could end up anywhere

I'm happy we don't chase Brandon Smith and stick with what we have in Liddle and Simpkin

Harry on the other hand would be great, we've already seen it, but it seems unlikely

Is it possible that Cam is waiting for Bellamy to announce his retirement. Is it possible that Cam is after a captain coach position?

Would not think the NRL would allow Grant to return to Melbourne this year.

It would break his contract with us.

You know how the NRL are with things like this.

I would say Cammy will be on his way back to QLD either Titans or Donkeys having the family in the bubble in QLD would put great pressure on him from his kids and let's face after long term exposure to the winter sun in QLD I think Mrs and Kids will win this one

I can't see too many players keen to go to the Warriors with all the questions of their home ground in 2021

I think he will go north too. Makes it difficult to push up the contract if only one club wants a captain/ coach.
What would be the going rate for a Cam Smith player coach? $5m over 2 years?

I don't think Cammy could juggle all the positions as good as he is playet/coach/referees coach

Think he will play next week. Video up of him running freely without any support on his knee.

Sad if Smith doesn't end up a one club player. Isn't that the reason he fell out with Cronk leaving Storm. Storm to win Grand Final and Smith retires after the match. NRL will make this happen.

As long as Ben Cummings isn’t the referee.

$500K as player in the salary cap, the rest as coach.

Grant is CONTRACTED to WT'S there is noway he can play for Storm this year

What’s the Buzz: It’s decision time as Cameron Smith expected to resolve his 2021 status this week

The Titans want him to lead their young guns, the Broncos want him to lead their resurrection – and the Storm just wants answers. The pressure is on Cameron Smith to reveal his plans for 2021.

Melbourne Storm is turning up the heat on superstar Cameron Smith to make a decision on his future before next Sunday’s game against Manly.

They feel the champion hooker has now had long enough to make the call.

In mid-July Smith told your columnist he was three weeks away from making a decision.

It is now five weeks since he told this newspaper: “I’m not going to string them out and leave them high and dry. Either way I’ve got to give them a bit of a heads-up.”

Storm chairman Matt Tripp will speak to Smith and his agent, Isaac Moses, this week.

Because of Smith’s standing in the game, there has been no pressure until now.

The future of Brandon Smith and Harry Grant are resting on his decision, although Storm strongly deny Brandon Smith has a get-out clause or would even want to leave.

On Friday we spoke to Moses about the situation and talk of interest from the Gold Coast.

He insists there have been no discussions with the Titans, which would be right considering their salary cap pressure from already having two million-dollar players in David Fifita and Ash Taylor.
The Storm superstar is set to make his return from injury next weekend.
The Storm superstar is set to make his return from injury next weekend.

Smith, 37, is expected to make a comeback from a shoulder injury next Sunday against Manly.

Those closest to the former Kangaroos and Maroons skipper are tipping he will retire.

***He has been offered a job at the club and a position on the board.***

He just needs to make that call to allow his club to plan for next year and beyond.

So its ok for Melbourne to offer him a job post football before he has made his decision to retire. Pascoe should be asking for a please explain from the NRL.
