Harry Grant

Harry Grant everywhere, in cover defence, diving on kicks, scoring off kicks. He looks like he's about to fall over with fatigue every set but keeps on keeping on.

Haven't seen a bloke so often in the right place at the right time since Benny Galea.

He competes for everything and wants to win every moment. There are a lot of attributes that add up to a great player but they all have that need to win.

The Storm are mad if they let him go, he keeps them towards the top for the next 10 years, they could have the best hooker in the game for 25 years straight if they get his signing right.

What it does demonstrate is the wonderful recruitment system the Storm have in place. Last year was the first time we have recruited players in numbers from QLD. We need to continue with this initiative.

Is Bellyache going to be at Melbourne beyond next year? Who would take over from him? These are things Grant will be thinking about. If Smith plays on, we arrange to keep the loan deal going which gives Grant first grade and Simpkin more time to develop. One thing is for sure, barring a dramatic form slump, he will never again be playing reserve grade.

if we dont get to keep him..

all eyes r on Simpkin and Liddle
if they both are not ready

Walters is a very suitable backup

i wonder if Walters will get any more runs this season at hooker or 5/8

All depends on injuries.

I'm 62 and have not seen a Rookie as good as this guy!

Yep, fairdinkum this kid loves playing the game .. every game so far he has busted himself come the 60-70 min mark .. hands on hips, sucking in the big ones. Great delivery out of dummy half, whether its a short quick pass or a long cut out wide pass two off the ruck .. he delivers .. !! He tackles, he runs, he tackles more, he backs up well , he tackles again, he scores trys, and did i say that he tackles anything that moves .. !!

Just dont break yourself young fellow .. pace yourself .. he's a smokey for sure for the QLD number 9 spot .. !! Fancy making your SOO debut as a rookie .. lol

What I find most impressive is the long ball from dummy half onto the chest of a forward, hits the mark every time and really gives us some width.

He's been our best player and it will be a shame to see him go at the end of the year, but that's what a loan deal is and we were really lucky to get him. I don't think we'd be sitting where we are on the ladder if he wasn't here.

He will have some huge shoes to fill come the end of the year. Hoping Simpkin is as good as his wraps.

Hoping Simpkins is studying how Grant is playing

Watching Harry play for us and developing into a world class dummy half under Madge and influencing our team has been a very enjoyable and exciting experience...
I don't know if we keep him or he has to go back, but whatever happens with Harry I can only wish all the best to him,he is an exceptional young man and player....
What we should be thinking also is that the Wests Tigers and Madge the coach has definitely given the guy a platform for a future superstar career..

Agree TT. He is everything you want in a first grade NRL player and hooker. He is tough, competitive and multi-skilled. He gets the forwards on the front foot with slick service, keeps the opposition off guard with his penetrative darts and gets through a mountain of work in defense. And to top this all off, he talks and organises the team. Obviously, he displays all the hallmarks of a future captain. We must absolutely do whatever is necessary to keep him. It will go a long way to changing the fortunes of the club!

I find it amazing that he couldnt crack the big gig at the storm this season. Kind of stunned they even traded him. Brandon Smith as good as he is, isn't as good as this bloke. Placing C Smith at 7 and Harry at 9 would have been deadly.

Grant makes the rest of our players look like CCs. A future captain. Smith needs to play another season and not with a 7 on his back,.

Any chance Smith goes straight into coaching to replace Bellamy?

I think he has been training as a referee

Funny, I thought he has always been training the referees!
