Harry Grant

He would have to do a Ryan Matterson to perhaps a bigger level to get out of his contract. If you want him to do that you have to be OK with how Ryan got out of his contract. I'm not saying what's right or wrong. I want him too but you can't have it both ways 😛

Both clubs and the player have to all agree at the end of the day. Bateman is just the latest. Its been going on forever. Parra and Matterson have no regrets i bet. We are just bitter he didnt want to play for us.

Geo we need to throw him the dollars hopefully it gets him over the line

He’s contracted for another 3 years. We could throw 5 million a year at him and it wouldn’t matter if Melbourne don’t release. After the way they handled JAC’s release request, don’t hold your breath. They know what they have with this kid.

I thought his contract ends in 2021????

Grant is contracted to the Storm until the end of 2022..an official approach can't be made until Nov 2021 unless the Storm give him permission to do so..

Media/fans hold the belief he has a get out clause should Cammy go around again next year but that has never been confirmed by either Club or player..

I have said it before in a post earlier that I was taken as a joke, but here it is..
If Harry wasn't at the WTs this year he would be third string D/H at Storm which would have meant very limited game time if any in the top 17 and probably going around each week at training with the squad..
He was given to us as a respected prospect for D/H at NRL level and we swapped him with Momo, they needed a centre we needed a D/H...
The experience and expertise at NRL level that he has been given by us, and by which I mean that the coaching and expertise given to him by Madge after every game to learn what is needed to better his game he would not have gotten at the Storm this year..
Its ok for Ponissi to blow wind up everybodies arse and say Harry will be wearing PURPLE NEXT YEAR is a sign of how arrogant the man is..granted he came to us on loan...His game and persona have been developed by us and this is the reason he is a DALLY M contender this year, here with us and not at the STORM..
WE TOOK HIM...WE HAVE DEVELOPED HIM AT NRL LEVEL not the Storm...
I completely understand he has to go back at some point, but he was third string at the Storm, we have made him the player he is at NRL level even as much to say he could be an origin contender...
As I said we have developed him and what you have is an NRL D/H coached by Madge, supported by the club and supported by our squad..

The only reason he will be back at Storm is if Cammy retires so they can have a back up to Brandon Smith because Bellamy promised the 9 to him not Harry...
Now they know how good Harry is thanks to Madge and the club they are spruiking how good he is,unfortunately they didn't have faith in him by putting B Smith first...

I agree we helped him get valuable first grade experience, but to say we developed him is a bit of a stretch.

Just because he wasn't in grade at Storm, doesn't mean they haven't been putting in the work with him in the time hes been with them.

I know this means absolutely nothing.....but 😂 I saw he commented on a video on Instagram (the page being browncardigan)
The guy who runs that page must be a tigers fan because he replied ‘please stay at the tigers’ and Harry Grant liked his comment!
I know absolutely ridiculous to think it means anything.

Matterson was contracted to us this year, where’s he at? Moses had a contract , how did that end up? Morris had a contract at the sharks, where is he playing this year? Bateman is contracted to the raiders next year, where’s he going.

Where always on the losing end of players wanting out. If the kid wants to stay here , throw the kitchen sink at him, contract or no contract with the storm. Being the nice guys who play by the rules has gotten us no where in the last ten years.

I would love him to stay but it seems there's several obstacles - not the least of which is the decision by Smith on his future.
The most significant thing WTs can do is provide an attractive option if he's given permission to play elsewhere. That means a solid culture, a decent winning percentage and a plausible vision for the future - things we seem to be heading towards. The Centre of Excellence would certainly help but I haven't been keeping up with its timeline.

Alternatively, we need to find him a hot girlfriend.

Great post ! What ever Harry achieves this season it will always be and had been in a Weststigers jersey . He has been given the opportunity by our club and I am sure he will be eternally grateful!

They may have been putting in the work...but has he been in their top 17 or playing in the grade to get that experience he needs to become a top NRL D/H ..I would say no...we have made Harry the player he is TODAY because of great coaching and support from the club and squad...

Cronk needed to play for Storm or Rorters because he needed great players around him.

Grant doesn't... he's a better player than Cronk now as far as I'm concerned.

Yea right.

I think everyone's needs to calm a little. I agree Harry is killing it at the moment but remember that Luke Brooks started his first grade career on fire also.........

2 different positions and 2 different personalities...Harry will be a superstar in years to come and that will boil down to the great coaching Madge has given him and the opportunities this club has given him...

Again, the guy has only played a couple of 1st grade games. He will be on a plane back to the Storm in November. No-one will remember that he played for us if he becomes a superstar. Apart from Wests and Balmain supporters, does anyone remember that Garry Jack started at Wests??

Living in the past doesn't cut it in the new millinium and the game as it is today..
Harry will always be remembered for the great effort he has put into the games while with us ….most of us understand that he will be leaving but I for one will always be proud of the young fella and his great efforts in our colours...

Cammie will play 7 next season , Munster 6 , grant at 9 , Papenhuyzen at 1

Sorry ...Harry Grant and Luke Brooks are on completely different planetary orbits

Even the artist formerly known as Geo would agree

That's the issue for the Storm, too many good No 9s and lacking a 7. We have a good 7, another good one doing his apprenticeship and two good 9s, one of whom may turn out to be better than Grant. I enjoy watching Grant but am looking forward to watching Simpkin.
