Harry Grant

That article doesn't sound promising that he will stay on.

I look at it another way Russ,it was the Tigers recruitment guy that organised the loan deal and I think maybe Harry and his family are pretty appreciative of that so it gave Harry NRL experience to get better week to week, which he wouldn't have got at Storm this year..
Harry may also enjoy the new lifestyle in Sydney with new friends and teammates he has bonded with..Im not saying he wont go back to Melb because he does have a contractual agreement with them, but he may also have seen another place he is welcomed and idolised at....
Im going to say right now...Although Harry has the agreement to fulfil,I would bet the WTs will do their best to keep him and maybe Harry wants to stay here....

It's not like the article is going to come out and say he is itching to get out of his Melbourne deal. The fact that this keeps getting talked about is a "where there's smoke, there's fire" type situation imo.

If Smith plays on, we have a good year and offer Grant a massive upgrade ... I there's a good chance we'll be locking him up long-term.

Harrys instagram seems very happy drapping nephew in Tigers colours. I think Harry loves it at Tigers and wants to stay.

Of course Melbourne will keep saying he wants to come back... his dad pretty much said the opposite 😂 long time until we will know though and most likely he’ll be leaving

Who’s Scott Woodward? He’s been credited for getting Grant over here so hats off to him.

Bottom line is the Storm are going to have to massively increase Harry’s pay packet next season .. he could well be an Origin player and a key player in the Dally M’s... or a very unhappy camper could be on there books .. as we know your only in the game to the next tackle !

This is a big win for WTs. The Club continues to receive exposure about the continued development of Grant. It is happening now under Maguire's watch proudly at WTs. Just been spoken of as a SOO contender, confirms WTs is a good destination for talented young players.

How many other young players are stuck behind big name players at the big clubs wanting to emulate the success of Grant?

I thought the opposite. If Cameron plays on, he'll be chancing his arm. Hope we have a fair chunk of money put aside for him, because he's probably our best player.

He starts with an established good side, containing some of the GOATs, then leaves for the only other team that has a strike rate anywhere near as good as Melbourne’s. I can understand that but can’t respect it, nor can I respect his comments.

My interpretation is that Cronk is basically saying that he was a decent half back only, and that he had to play in great teams in order to make him look good.

Accordingly, if he played in a struggle-street team like the Tigers, his career would probably have lasted only 100 games or so.

Which means, that if he had joined the WT instead of Easts a few years back, his lack of greatness would have been obvious to all and his reputation would have been tarnished.

In providing his self-serving advice to Grant (which he dresses up as "fatherly" advice to a rookie) he not only denigrates our club and our coach, he also denigrates himself as a player.

However, Harry Grant is more than just a decent dummy half. Rather, he appears destined for greatness, and I would back him to shine in any company. Unlike Cronk, he doesn't need great players around him to make him look good.

Think you’re being a bit harsh on Cronks ability he was a terrific halfback. His career would’ve been different if we was at a weaker club no doubt but he was still fantastic as a player, showed it at origin level and Australian level too.

He proved that he was a reliable robot as well for Origin and Australia with more great players around him.

The two words to describe Cronk that come to mind are reliable and consistant.

Nothing else imo.

Not many halves in the modern game are reliable and consistent though that’s my point. Bloke didn’t have a bad game playing one of the hardest positions. Incredibly smart footballer who rarely ever made errors out on the field

We know all that....the point is how good would he have been, how many errors would he have made, how many of his kicks would have been scored off...

IF HE HAD PLAYED FOR THE TITANS?

Would have been about as good as Ashley Taylor imo.

No chance sure he might not win premiershipa but his kicking game, passing game and game management are top notch doesn’t matter what team he’s in

No doubting Cronks skills, and looking at his game management abilities he'd probably make a good coach one day.

But for a healthy game, his comments probably weren't his best. If we want to stick with 3 or 4 teams always having an advantage, keep stacking them up with the best. League then will never be an even competition.

Nailed it Bee-Em! This is the core issue here and what makes Cronk’s comments on the nose, imo.

Any chance cronks comments are aimed at Brooks a bit?

Brooks has really not lived up to the hype despite time in grade around an average team.

Storm need a good half back.

If we were offered to give brooks and keep Grant next year, who here would take it?

That won’t happen.

For a start Brooks would have to agree
