Harry Grant

Benji on 360 said you can tell Harry comes from a good system, he's very professional

Not a great reflection on the WT system

A system Benji has been part of for a long time. For the first time in years I feel like we’re turning the corner though. It wouldn’t harm our progress if Harry extended the loan agreement for another season. And it certainly would speed up the progress if he had a couple of mates giving him a hand.

Benji helped mould the crap tiger's system

Harry has officially announced his departure(On Instagram I think) Told ya’s not to get to get your hopes up.

The club does not need any more attention, and the interview with Benji did not help this. I agree that the generational change is an issue, young players are not mentally as tough as past players, and don't handle tough love very well. So if this is true then Madge needs to be a bit more flexible and find a balance. He will be a year or 2 away, but young Simpkins is near a clone of Harry and will be a great player if we can keep him. Watching the Melbourne game, JAC showed that he has it to play fullback, would just need some coaching and fine tuning, he is a star.

I didn't watch Benji's interview and I love the guy but he is coming off as a sook. He is clearly a little emotional and I don't trust anything coming out of his mouth atm.

To be fair to Benji I've never trusted his opinion on lots of stuff. As stated above he is always talking various things/players/etc being the best or whatever.

Not sure about a year or 2 away with a good pre season he could be pushing for a starting spot

Would have given him a bench spot when we were out of contention. He’s a much bigger body than Liddle so I’m sure he would’ve been fine

I think potentially Simpkins could be better than Grant but I don't think he is a clone, if anything I see him more like Brandon Smith or a Brad Drew type of player

Liddle looks a lot bigger than Grant. Is Simpkins really a lot bigger than Liddle ?

I’m talking size wise not height wise. Simpkins is shorter though so he probably fills out a bit more

Also at the same age Liddle was a stick figure, Simpkins is only 19 and definitely doesn’t seem as brittle.

GNR4Life I wish I could be as happy as you to see our best player in Grant leaves ... but we have Nofo so all is good with the team

nothing wrong with a little hope!
But i too saw the departure on the instantgram and have extinguished my vigil to harry.

Made all the easier by having Liddle and Simpkin

One B Marshall on 360 Saying Harry is a "generational" player to build your club around. Best junior he had ever seen

Didnt' seem optimistic on him been at the tigers however

Benji wasn't optimistic about anything imo.

Especially his own football future.

if Liddle plays all 28 games including semi finals next year I will be amazed good luck to him hope I am wrong he is a good footballer but built like a soggy sao

We do have Liddle and Simpkin,2 exciting prospects although we have seen what Jacob can do at NRL level and hopefully Simpkin runs up to expectations, the hooker role seems secure for years to come...
Having said that,Harry did bring us excitement and proffessionalism that we really did need this year,Im so glad he did our colours proud both on and off the field,he epitomises the good within the NRL and the human race...

harrrygrantt Thankyou @nrl_weststigers for the year. Made some unreal memories and mates that I’ll cherish forever. Thanks to all the boys, staff, members and fans for making me feel welcome from day dot.
Very proud that I’ll always be Wests tigers player #231 and had the chance to play some footy with two blokes I grew up idolising, @chrislawrence04 & @benji6marshall true legends.

Watched the video on the Wests Tigers website after he won the rookie award and he for such a young man spoke well and said his time with us was great and enjoyable and loved the fans as I am sure we loved him in our colours. Classy player and shows as much class off the field also.

I watched Simpkins play in the game before the NRL Penrith trial earlier in the year and he was very good and had a kicking game which I don't believe Harry has as yet . Shame we did not blood him this year, however understand that you need to build your body up to contact through a preseason and without reggies this year it was probably the correct decision.

I would love to have Harry stay , however think we need JAC's pace more
