Has Campbelltown Stadiums capacity decreased?

In 2005 we got 20,500 people to the Cowboys game
In 2010 we got 19,900 against the Roosters, but in my opinion, the ground looked more crowded this time than back in 2005.

I really don't know where they would be able to squeeze in another 600 people

So have the reno's made the ground smaller?

I think I read somewhere that apparently the ground can now hold 23k.
When they announced the crowd yesterday i had trouble trying to think of where they would fit another 3-4 thousand people. unless they made it standing room only on the hills and people were satisfied to sit in the toilets and just listen to the roar of the crowd and not actually watch the game.

I think before the upgrade the capacity was probably around 21,000\. It's probably a little bit less than that now, but not less than 20,000.

They actually have no idea on the capacity… My wife had a bit to do with the insurance of the upgrades to the stadium and she was saying that when doing the assessment nobody could give a official figure.. I guess its going to be one of the test the waters things...

Yeah it's hard to know exactly what the capacity is when there are hills. I think it's safe to say though that the capacity is somewhere between 20,000 and 21,000 because the crowd was 19,991 and there wasn't many empty seats and the hills looked pretty full.

Max Capacity is 21,900

I could see plenty of empty seats in the Eastern & Upper Western Stands and a few areas on the hills that weren't as heavily populated.

Replacing any grasssed area with seats will always reduce the capacity - seats take up more room and you have walkways etc. On a good day, you might be able to squeeze another thousand in if all seating was taken, and the hills at each end crammed.

Parramatta stadium used to hold around 27,000 (attendance record is 27,243 in 1986 v Souths) when it was grassed at both ends. Granted the new end seats don't extend as far back as the old hills but the capacity now is officially 20,741\. (it seems a much bigger ground than Campbelltown).

You also have to take into account the area to the left of the Western Stand that had no seats or hill previously.
