Has Group Six gone to the Panthers?

The reason I ask is that during the Knights vs Panthers NYC they were talking about the Panthers juniors and they mentioned Group Six being part of the Panthers juniors area.

Is this true?

As far as I know Group 6 is Country Rugby League - i.e. neither Wests or Penrith. But I'm happy for others with more knowledge on this to correct me.

Group six is CRL and extends from Moss Vale up to the suburbs of Campbelltown and out to Oakdale. The last couple of years a Campbelltown side has been entered in the comp which makes me think any young talent is going to be snapped up by the Wests. A couple of team do stretch out towards the Penrith area so maybe the Penrith club feeds their youngsters into those teams to get some game time. I know there is a young fella who trialled in the Wests NYC team against Parra this year who is now playing for Mittagong.

Teams from Group 6 and Western Suburbs District used to play against each other in the same competition but now Group 6 and Western Suburbs District have seperated. I don't know how Group 6 could be part of the Panthers juniors area when it's closer to Campbelltown. Two Campbelltown teams are actually in Group 6 (Campbelltown Eagles and Campbelltown City Kangaroos).

group 6 juniors are already a part of the magpies junior rep squads….i was close to the swas squad and they had players from both comps involved ....

Good summary Alien, there has been a bit of friction between Western Suburbs District and Group 6 hierarchy over the split as reported in the local papers. My observations of Group 6 juniors is that whilst Wests select players from that comp for rep teams, nearby clubs like Penrith and Parramatta also make offers.

there is alot of talk about it on the wests magpies forum
