Eloy Room (37 years old) put on a masterclass in goal. He single-handedly kept Curacao in the game, denying Ecuador clear goal-scoring chances over and over again.

75% possession.
27 shots.
15 shots on target.
3.05 xG.
And somehow... 0 goals.
Ecuador threw everything at Curaçao, but a resilient defensive display earned the underdogs a huge point in a 0-0 draw.
Football can be brutal.

HISTORY IN THE MAKING RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES!
Right now, live in front of the world!Curaçao - a tiny Caribbean island with just ~150,000 inhabitants — has secured a historic 0-0 draw against Ecuador on their debut at the 2026 World Cup!

A team with zero previous experience at major tournaments has earned a priceless point against a South American side with deep World Cup pedigree and regular qualification.

It wasn’t the dream victory, but this draw is already a fairytale β€” a genuine David vs Goliath story that proves football can still write incredible scripts.
Fairytale mode: ACTIVATED!

MOST GOALS JAPAN HAVE EVER SCORED IN A WORLD CUP
LARGEST WIN BY AN ASIAN TEAM
With a dominant 4-0 performance by Japan, Tunisia are knocked out - with two different coaches, 9 goals conceded.

Iran earn another point at the World Cup as they draw 0-0 with Belgium
Tractor’s Alireza Beiranvand makes 7 saves and keeps a clean sheet
Belgium is still winless at the World Cup after a draw vs. Iran.
The game burst into life in the second half following a brilliant save from Alireza Beiranvand, before Nathan Ngoy was sent off. Neither side could find a breakthrough though.

I've been cooking a winner's dinner every night for the World Cup. Tonight it's paella.

I was hoping New Zealand won because it would've been a rack of lamb with roasted kumara, honey glazed carrots and mint peas.

Hopefully they beat Belgium.

Fantastic. I went to Hay St Market last night there is a Spanish restaurant in the market, wanted to get tapas, paella and sangria but I think it's more a day market we arrived too late.

I'm far from a chef or a photographer, but I love good food. I usually search Google images for recipes and the best photos, I save them, and then give them a go.

Tonight's paella is from Sonoma-Cutrer's Saffron Paella with Chicken, Andouille Sausage & Prawns recipe.

I've cooked it multiple times and it's by far the the best recipe I've found.

It's hard to find traditional Andouille sausage though. If you're in Sydney go to the Spanish Portuguese Butchery in Petersham, they're the best, however good quality Chorizo will also do the job.

Amazing. I grew up in Glebe and there was a small Spanish quarter between Liverpool St through to Market St in central Sydney.

It was the best. Mum and Dad would take us down there for tapas on special occasions and then we were allowed to get a comic from Comic Kingdom.

Apparently if we win / draw on Friday we would face either Belgium/Iran/Egypt

You’d give us a pretty good chance on making the 16 in that case, tough but doable

If we lose and finish 3rd we face either Portugal, France or Germany …zero to no chance.

We would have to get beat pretty badly to not make the 32, like 3-0 I think
