Hastings VS Brooks

Why can't we just drop Brooks? Put him in reserves. No player has been as crap as him for as long as him without playing reserves. He's quite arguably the worst player who regularly gets a run in the NRL (imo he is) so why on earth do we need to find a way to get him in the team. Send him off to the sun for all I care, lets give someone who might fail a go rather than someone who we know is a failure another.

50-50

One is quick but the other wins because he has something between the ears

Never dropped Mbye who probably had 2 - 3 decent games during his time here.

I think there was a few games he might have dropped himself because he just didn't want to turn up or play.

Can't justify that price tag not being utilised.
As others have said, unlikely he goes anywhere in 2022... however as we've all heard Raiders need a 7 and I can advise from a very reliable source that he has been discussed for a Mitchell Pearce replacement for 2023 onward.

Well Demps, the coach who recruited Brooks will be back with WTs. I have no doubt he will have very firm views on how he should be used. Remember how Sheens utilised Lui to make use of his ball playing skills?

Yep, see what happens.

I'd love nothing more than Brooks to repay us for supporting him for so long by becoming a great player and winning more games as well as Nofo running straight and hard.

I think 2022 is a make or break year for Luke at the Tigers. I can see it being his last year if he doesn't have a real crack and string together the wins.

I hope with Sheens on board and the new assistants we get back to playing the entertaining and attacking football WTs have traditionally played. Much improved defence would also assist.

I reviewed our wins and losses yesterday....

If we won 3 more games we would of been guaranteed in the 8.

As we all know, losing to the dogs in the final round, as well as NQ, Warriors x 2 and I believe we could be won that controversial south's game... all we have to do is win.

Haha.
Simple as that

Don't lose those winnable games and we're good.

Wasn't it good back then when we had multiple options of attack on opposition defensive lines as opposed to just leaving it up to Brooks all the time as we do now. Our hooker had a short kicking game, half and 5/8 also. We even had a backrower in Fulton that used to do it when required also. I don't get the hate for Brooks all the time when the opposition defense only has to target one bloke. I'm hoping these assistant coaches can teach Madge how to coach.

I really enjoyed reading your post and agree with what you wrote. I often read posts about our identity; well WTs is the team that entertains and attacks, or we used to be until Maguire brought his dumbed down game to the Club. I feel sorry for Liddell and Brooks who are wonderfully gifted players.

Agree 100% mate. I actually think we have the nucleus of a good footy team. We are not using our strengths when required. I know Jacob has a kicking game and Laurie also but aren,t used enough. We need to come up with something better than 4 hit ups and chuck it to Brooks and hope for something. I would argue a lot of the footy has been coached out of our guys over the last few years. Would love to have seen how Brooksy was now having being coached by the likes of Sheens. He has been poorly coached apart from the year with Ivan where he deservedly got a Dally M.

The truth is hard to read Demps. Instead of knocking Brooks, take the time to look at the dumbed down style our players are being asked to play.

Blame the players around him.

What's next?
Blame his parents?

I hope he can become the star and live up to potential but I honestly think we've seen enough.

Excuses.

The truth is hard to read Demps. Instead of knocking Brooks, take the time to look at the dumbed down style our players are being asked to play.

It's true Maguire attack hasn't changed since 2014 go watch replay 2014 grand final. Tigers didn't have to players to execute it.

Exactly

I look at the game against the Dogs. We were in that game and Brooks went to pieces. I'm not sure he has the ability to step up and lead a team. Doueihi has that ability. I think Hastings has that ability.

You need guys that go out there and win games.

I listened to a Michael Jordan on iView this week. That guy is ultra competitive. He just wants to win. You need guys that thrive under pressure.

It's not a coaching issue. If the coach was completely stuffing everything up and telling the players the completely wrong thing any player worth his salt would still play what they saw.
