Hayne For Fullback

I'd rather sign Michael Gordon than Hayne for fullback. Gordon is a goal-kicker, safer under the high ball and it pretty fast for his age.

Yeah we could sign him until the Winter Olympics and he will go off to try an represent Fiji in Curling, followed by a stint with Manchester United in soccer, ending his illustrious career as a Dodge ball practice dummy at Ole Miss University

That off course assumes he does not suffer a career ending ego induced brain explosion along the way

Nope. He can take his ego back to Parra.

Imagine a spine of Hayne/Moses/Norman. There wouldn't be a dressing room big enough to fit all 3 of their heads.

Would only need Farah to complete the fab four…. No to Hayne... Too much trouble

I was gunna say no to Hayne but MG^ said it better.

This thread is a delusional waste of time. It won't happen and it won't happen for the right reasons. He's not a team player, he's injury prone and he will cost too much for what he's worth. Edwards is the one I'd chase as he's young, talented and wouldn't cost the Earth.

He would be terrible for team harmony. i dont care how he can play he would bring more negatives than positives to us

Yea no thanks, I have a mate you is friends with a parramatta player and when HAYNE was at the eels he said HAYNE would only do half the training, he would start training then after a while would stop and say he is going to save himself for the game

While other players were flogging themselves in training to get into the first grade squad

Perfect summation of Hayne

Imo I have a feeling we already have a full back in Lolohea. Just waiting for him to be released. Cleary doesn't miss too many he really goes after.

Edwards would be ok on the wing - don't need him to play FB.

Certainly don't need Hayne - we haven't got a big enough landing field ( for his head that is).

I apologise in advance for this because i realise that 90% of posters are in agreeance in terms of players with poor attitude and i 100% understand, but im going to go against it a bit and open myself up to some backlash here but….

Most of us have said no to players like hayne, fergusson, dugan, barba due to their egos/attitudes etc. Those who opposed Packer were also due to his off field antics.

But at the end of the day dugan hayne barba and fergusson are freaks. They are all successful players, they can win matches single handedly and know what it takes to win.

If we get too precious and caught up with the "on the bus" thing then its gonna be hard to evolve into winners.

Dont get me wrong im aware that a toxic player can spoil a team but i think these guys are far feom capable of doing that. If any of the above mentioned players are even a chance of signing i think we should be moving mountains. Im sure players would develop so much alongside hayne.

Yes he will probably have a sulk at some point, yes barba will probably be seen at a party, but i think their pros outweigh their cons by a landslide.

Theyre winners and we havent had one of those in a long time.

not that it counts, but I agree, hayne would be my choice, a player that can lift a team and win games almost on his own. the tigers must have some wealthy supporter that would see the benefits of forking out a bit extra to get him here on a tpa deal, thus not taking up as much of our salary cap, still allows maybe a shot at ferguson as well.
isn't he a local Campbelltown kid, he might like the option of coming home?
just a thought.

Hayne: can defend, kinda read plays, definitely score tries.
Israel: kinda defend, not really read plays, injects AFL tactics on jumping for ball and intercepts, definitely score tries.

Here is my CRAZY idea. Cooper Cronk!
Ok Cronk goes Halfback. Brooks, your playing FB. No you have no experience, you are going to have to learn. Meanwhile you work with Cronk. Cronk + Reynolds would be an awesome half combination and Brooks gets experience. Meanwhile Brooks gets more strategic and better leadership from his new mentor Cronk.

Our highball will suck, Brooks is a hopeless defender but Cronk + Reynolds patches the turnstyles in the middle so we have a chance and we get to see next year if Brooks is worthwhile.

Can Liddle play fullback? Cronk to half brooks to 5/8 Reynolds to Hooker and Liddle to fullback
