Hayne weighing up Rugby switch

I hope Laurie Daley is taking notice.

That's a very valid point Gallagher….. Its such a pity he's such a tool because he has got talent and NSW would like to use him. But when he says shite like that well better of without him!!!/

We have enough backs already, there's a high chance that Moylan won't even be in the back 5!

The media are as much to blame as the Haynes hype team. They keep going to him for a headline and he keeps delivering.

The sad thing in most clubs is the more money a player gets the less money another player gets and most of the Haynes hype is just about pushing up his asking price. So in other words he gets a bigger slice of the cake.

Its time for the NRL to tell the Haynes team, that there are now new kids on the block like Teddy who have taken your rung on the ladder and maybe you should explore other opportunities far and wide

Ya know I WILL get shot down for this but I reckon moyland to me is a more complete player than Teddy. But we all know what Teddy can do and do it well.
IMO Moyland has to be there somewhere and probably at 6.

NRL would fight to keep Jarryd Hayne in game

A DAY after Jarryd Hayne revealed he was open to big-money offers from rival codes, including French rugby, **NRL head of football Brian Canavan said “we’ll do everything in our powers to keep Jarryd in the game’’.**

Canavan was working as the Gold Coast Titans chief operating officer when talks about luring the Hayne Plane to the club first commenced.

While he had returned to Sydney to take up a role with the NRL before Hayne was delivered to the Titans, Canavan said rugby league was the main code on the star No.1’s mind at the time.

“The impression he gave via his manager was he wanted to come back into the NRL to find his feet again,’’ Canavan said.

“Jarryd has achieved a lot, he has a sense of adventure in his life at this stage, but within the NRL’s powers, we’ll do everything to keep him in the game.’’

Former NRL boss Dave Smith once spruiked a ‘’war chest’’ had been set aside to help keep some of the game’s biggest stars from joining rival codes, but that money would never be used while Todd Greenberg is in charge.

Hayne, who has an option in his favour to remain with the Titans in 2018, said there had been interest from French rugby, ‘’and for me it’s the timing of it, and whether I want to chance my arm at it’’.

“Everything is an option, I don’t like to live in a narrow vision,’’ he said.

“As kids, we are encouraged to try every sport we can, so as an adult, why should that change?’’

Because you're an adult you tool…

Changes his mind more than he changes his undies does the human headline. I understand the need to secure yourself financially for the future, but be careful of greed Jarryd, as it will come back and bite you on the arse!

Agree Flip, and the other side of the coin is in my opinion ,he cant deliver as good as he did 3/4 years ago,so he has to find some sort of retirement fund and apparently France can offer that…

"I played rugby when I was growing up. As a kid I did a lot of sports. That's why it pisses me off when everyone carries on when someone changes sports. "As kids, we are encouraged to try every sport we can, so as an adult, why should that change?

Is he serious…serious?

I knew from the way Nathan Friend rolled his eyes at the press conference after the game against us last year when he said Hayne had screamed that it was his house after he kicked the field goal that it was going to be a fun year with Jarryd. This isn't America. People get tired of that bravado ''look at me look at me'' crap real fast.

Hayne in trouble

Why doesn't he just shut up and play football…that's his job isn't it ????

Great to see. The way he was rushed back into the NRL and "gifted" to the NRL-run Titans had massive question marks all over it in terms of where the supposedly cash-strapped Titans suddenly had the funds to put him on the books.
Glad it has hit a downward spiral basically from day 1\. Pack up your rattle and potty Jarryd and disappear from RL for good this time.

Gold Coast Titans took Jarryd Hayne out of leadership group after clashes with teammates
March 8, 2017 11:00am

JARRYD Hayne’s attitude continues to come under scrutiny, with reports he was temporarily stood down from Gold Coast’s NRL leadership group after clashes with teammates.

The star fullback argued with teammates about a number of commitment issues, including him being overweight, according to News Corp Australia. He has reportedly been placed on a weight-loss program.

It comes after claims Hayne, the Titans’ prized recruit of last year, was fined for missing a pre-season training session.

According to News Corp, Hayne was unhappy about being targeted by the playing group with fines.

It is believed the clashes led to him being forced to relinquish his duties as a senior club figure, before being reinstated to the leadership group.

Responding to questions, Titans chief executive Graham Annesley and Hayne’s agent Wayne Beavis told News Corp the former NSW Origin star was the target of excessive scrutiny by the media.

Gold Coast coach Neil Henry refused to comment on Tuesday on claims he was fined for missing training, describing the story as “old news”.

Hayne tweeted “Loose lips sinks ships!” on Sunday night after reports emerged the 29-year-old was fined by teammates over the summer because of his poor training habits.

Ben Ikin, Nathan Ryan and Ben Glover are joined by Dragons recruitment boss Ian Millward to discuss the club’s recruitment plan and why it revolves around Ben Hunt.

Attempting to clarify the situation, Hayne said he had permission from one of the team’s captains to skip a session and fly to Sydney for treatment on an injury but was fined when Henry found out.

In January, Henry admitted Hayne had turned up to the start of pre-season training overweight, citing the excess bulk acquired from NFL conditioning.
\
\
“He’s come back a bit heavy and we’re working on that,” Henry told Sky Sports Radio on January 10.

The latest drama comes after Hayne was praised by teammates in the pre-season, with forward Ryan James describing him as more mature.

Hayne, who scored a try in the Titans’ comprehensive defeat by Sydney Roosters in their NRL season opener, has been dogged by controversy since his shock signing after returning from a stint in the NFL.

Last September he was filmed partying with a Gold Coast biker gang and handing over a wad of cash to one of the members.

He recently upset club powerbrokers by publicly stating he wanted to play rugby in France when his two-year contract expires.
