Hayne's Chip over the Top

It reminded me of that utter bullcrap kick and gather from Stewart in 06 (I think). if either of those balls bounce ANY other way there is no try. And, in this case, if Moltzen had of gotten there first we probably would have been celebrating.

Footballs aren't supposed to bounce at right angles

and benji's flick passes arent supposed to bend the way they do. get on with it. great try to Hayne. last person please switch off the lights.

Killed me Tonight !! I feel Sick dudes..

Different bounce and Moltz could have been under the posts 😢

A 50/50 bounce favours Moltzen and a possible line-break/try. That bounce was just horrible for us.

Another moment was a Farah pass to Benji who hit the ball at speed and was a certain try but Robbie couldn't quite get it in the bread basket.

If you watch the replay - Farah looked to have hurt his shoulder seconds before he got the ball and attempted the pass to Benji. I don't think he could use his right arm properly.

Beau Ryans first try foot on line wasnt a call that went our way?

That was the correct call. At worst BOTD.

The Payne-Morris forward pass was a joke.

The Hayne -some Parra moron NON-forward pass call was even more a joke (they scored straight after).

The Marshall forward pass call at the end… I'll comment when I see it on tele in a couple on minutes.

Some penalty calls were harsh too. Two against Gibbs - one he was injured and couldn't move, and the other he was lying about 90cm away from the Parra player playing the ball. He rolled it back and the hooker made a meal of it. Tough call against him IMO.

Gibbs wasn't injured he was trying to slow the play the ball. And when he realised he'd given yet another penalty he thought he'd better stay down.

biggest fluke ever soon as he caught it I turned the TV off didnt wanna hear the NINE Parra fans go off their heads about him

Thank god Benji didnt kick all those goals or that fluke try would have happened near the end of the game

i don't get how they can call him a genius etc for doing a chip kick, something which has been in the game for years

They need a Hero dude! Ray Warren and all the flippers on Channel 9 need a Parramatta Hero!!
they love living in the 80,s

Im so p'ed about the try because I knew thats exactly what they were about to do, I said it.

Pass it to Hayne, Chip over the top and in under the post.

I was OK with the 2 point loss in a game where they gave their all and it was a respectible performance.

Just cant get over them allowing this to happen. My only whinge if the night.

(Although I just got home and havent watched the replay yet)

if he is a freak, genius, etc… what does that make joey johns back in the days?
chip n chases have been around since 1908\. just about anyone can do them.
what benji did with his step, shimmy, accelerate, dummy n flick can only be done by one benji marshall.

Parra deserved to win they were better at the death Haynes try was very good i dont think Moltzen put his body on the line but the guy i think put us on the back foot was good old Bryce the boofhead Gibbs he has been doing this for seasons now and the sooner he goes the better. We also lack quality in a couple of positions 1 fullback 2 center 3half and most of all a bit more mongrel up front to many offloads near the end for Parra BUT DONT GIVE UP

Was a great try from a freak player at a crunch point in the game. Let a Tiger score it and the bashers in this thread would become nut-huggers very quickly.

LOL…yeh, anyone can do em.

Thats why we see it happening 20 times in every game. :unamused:

Good play in a cruical time by a great player. May not like his attitude but his form is amazing. That 40/20 was a rocket of a kick.

A fulltime fullback may have stopped it, due to some better positioning, but no use crying over spilt milk

I saw Robbie go down at one point. Though the offload to Benji was from his left.

Yeah, I noticed Farah looking injured for a minute or two, about the time of that pass.

While I was yelling blue murder for most of the game, I won't take that win away from Parra, or especially from Hayne. His form is so hot at the moment that these things are bound to come off for him. If he was out of form, there is no way he would have come close to scoring. The question is though, will his form last for another 6 weeks? If not, I reckon Parra will disappear as quickly as they have rocketed onto the scene this last 6 games.

That other try with the half a dozen difficult offloads was something special too. It reminded me too much of some other games we have had against Parra over the years.

Spot on, Hayne has done it twice in a fortnight. His first 40/20 was magic. I was at the ground, bloody Blacklock all over again. :brick:

Benji is class, he defies physics at times.

Hayne admitted today on air it was a fluke

so the flukemaster even admits it

Fluke or not, he played for it and it came off. It certainly wasn't a high percentage play. Benji tried one in the first half and it didn't come off so that's the risk you take with the chip kick.

#9 for Eels was in front of the kicker, came within the 10 when Hayne regathered, right beside him actually. Lawrence/Tnt got penalized for similar offense. Just saying..
