Ignoring his contract, do you think he should be here next year? to me, he's had a very disappointing start, middle (injury) and later middlish of the season, but the last few games, he was starting to impress me.

but the fact is, he is a workhorse who has minimal impact… but maybe he does? imo he is just being asked to shuffle and run at the markers, but that's just me.

what do you guys think?

Its the same situation as Sheens.

The club would be happy to move him on but you need some takers.

I'm a big believer in having worker bees in your teams. They don't get the accolades but any good side has a few of those types. Now with Ellis leaving, a player of Chris's work ethic will be invaluable. Is there a place in the 17 for him?? Most definitely.

Yep keep him, there's a role for him off the bench and you need depth and experience. I reckon he's good for at least one more season

He,s also a team prankster. So the impact he is having off the field for team bonding etc has to be of some value. Look at the hole Gibbs left. You need guys like that to make training enjoyable.

Not at a couple of hundred grand a year you don't.

Unless he learns to steam onto the line in the off season I think his time in the sun in the NRL is over, which is bittersweet because Heighington has been a stalwart for the club and it will be sad to see him go.

you all say you want the team to step up, and the team isnt performing.. he is one of the ones who isnt..

Along with Sheens, he is another long term Tiger that needs to move on.. no one denies he doesnt try his guts out and he has been a fantastic Tiger but its the time to move him on.. It would be different if it was just an OFF year.. but he is getting on in age and he has been well below par now for a few years.

Love Rhino but it's diminishing returns with him at the moment. He'd be best served playing a couple of seasons in ESL where he counts as a local.

After the first half of the season i would of said let him go, but during the second half of the year i thought he played well enough to keep one more year.

We are consistently getting belted and run over the top of in the forwards. Can we ever go 3 hit ups in a row and charge 30-40m like the good sides? No.

Lets be brute and up front, with no disrespect to any of these players. Fulton, Heighno and Blair is the most ineffective back row in the comp. They all have individual characteristics which are good, but thats a fact. And before the Fulton Love Army comes in (And I am a big fulton fan), try and read what I am saying first. We need some guys who can charge at the line and bust the line. Im sick of getting into the opposition 20m and having no options at all. In all of the last three games which we lost, we had plenty of opportunities at early stages in the game to go ahead early, but our lack of penetration was evident. Good sides have strong back rowers on both sides and also have a gun fullback roaming behind. We have none of these.

If you want a workhorse, we already have Fulton. Plus most of our forwards are tryers anyway. Heighno is small, not that trim, he is not overly strong and he has relatively poor leg speed so has significant impact on the line. If he was to go off contract at the moment he would have very very minimal interest.

This is not trying to sound as a bashing, but Heighno has been past it for 2-3 seasons now.

That's a fair call milford.

We do lack some real size in the back row and it must be noted that looking at things from that point of view, you can already see Sheens has got the recruiting wrong, again! Our back row options for next year include Blair, Fulton, Anasta, Heighington, Thompson (2nd row/centre), Bell (2nd row/prop), Murdoch Masila (2nd row/prop), Pettybourne (2nd row/prop). Right now i see our second row consisting of Anasta at lock (depending on fitness of Sironen), Blair and Fulton in the 2 row, with Pettybourne at least starting the season off the bench.

Again there will be a HUGE reliance on Galloway and Woods to chalk up metres unless we get something extra out of Blair which is possible. Right now though, i still think we're a quality forward short there. We're basically relying on someone stepping up a notch in 2013.

Depends on his contract. If he's earning 200k or less a year than he's worth keeping for another year. But any more than that I would be reluctant to keep him.

This is why the brains trust purchased Adam Blair…he was supposed to be that brute second rower busting the line..but he did not measure up..

I'm no super coach by any stretch unlike the majority on here but he'll be an asset next season especially since Gareth has gone home. Rhino stays.
