Heighington

I say no.
In 2005 he had great impact off the bench. He isn't that type of player anymore. Nowadays he has no impact whatsoever. He is really not up to first grade IMO.

Loyalty is one thing, knowing that time's up is another (see Sheens threads). Anyway, Rhino has been a passenger for years now. Surely we have been loyal enough as it is.

I am all for worker bees but I reckon Bell is better than him anyway.

Unfortunately I cannot see him in my team next year, if I have to choose between Fulton, CW or Blair, Fulton is arguably the best option, and if we have Fulton in the team, there is no place for CW or Blair, as we need at least 2 strong/dominating players like BMM and Pettybourne, or (God willing) Dwyer

Im torn with Heino, he is clearly a bit past his best, I still think he is contributing and was ok this year, but he is prob on decent dollars and not really producing those performances.

If he is able to get a good contract OS, which is probable, given he does not count as an import, Id be happy to see him move on and reap a pay day.

Love Rhino but it's diminishing returns with him at the moment. He'd be best served playing a couple of seasons in ESL where he counts as a local.

totally agree,he has been great, just like Sheens his time has passed.

To all the people who have voted Rhino gone take your memory back a few weeks

Melbourne score their last try in the corner , the rest of the Tigers are standing in the ingoal sucking their thumbs ,couldn't give a rats and who is the only player passionately fighting to get the ref to go upstairs and have a look

It wasn't going to change the result , but unlike many others in our side , Rhino is the ultimate professional he fights it out to the end win ,lose or draw

His last month of football has been his best in three seasons in my opinion and I want a bloke in my side who is going to fight it out to the end win ,lose or draw

He deserves another season at least , some on here have absolutely no idea what holds football teams together when it comes to the crunch

yeh i agree with you happy.. he is the ultimate professional and has pride in his jersey, and not just for playing up to the fans.

look if sheens goes, im happy for rhino to stay, but if sheens stays, i hope rhino goes. the last few weeks, there was a glimpse of what he can do. for those who think he's too old, he's still 29, same as robbie i think.

as goose said, he needs to improve to keep his spot, even on the bench. i can't see him improving under sheens unfortunately.. and that applies to benji, robbie, rowdy and many others

Old Dart for Heino struggling with the pace of the game with non existent impact .If he is here next season will be hard pressed to tie down a permanent spot ….20 minute stints at best.

Heighno, is one off the only blokes in the club that puts in every week and loves the club. He can't help that for years super coach has used him as the man to centre the attack by sending him in to get bashed by for the markers and shuffle to ensure he hits elbows and knees. Let heigno run out wide and let Blair make the hard hit up and judge him then.

He's a professional footballer… Not everything is Sheens' fault as convenient as it is to attribute every underperforming player's woes to him... I'm sure if Chris got some ball wider out and starting carving out big numbers Sheens isn't going to complain.

He's been a great servant for our club & his form was better in the second half of the year but i'd tap him on the shoulder if I had to be ruthless. When there was talk of us releasing him to Pentith last year, I couldn't believe we were prepared to let him go but in hindsight it probably would of been for the best. I think him & fults are similar types of players & we can't afford to have them both in the team. I believe we need to change our style of play & have forwards that can bend the line & get us good go forward.

The worst thing to happen to Heighington's career was Gareth Ellis.

Hino had a standout year in 2008 and was easily our best forward. Ellis came along and outplayed Hino so emphatically that it seemed his confidence was a bit shot.

If he can run to and through the advantage line as opposed to running up to the advantage line and dropping, and avoiding markers in his runs, he will be fantastic.

I just can't see that happening though.

My problem though is that if he moves on, it increases the chances of Anasta playing in the back row, which moves Benji to halfback which sees our season [This word has been automatically removed]ed.

Anasta can never be in our pack, Benji must never be at halfback.

So its a case of we have to keep Hino, to keep Anasta in the halves and increase the chance of him playing at 7 and Benji at 6.

I agree with happy i would keep Chris as i feel the last six or eight weeks he really improved, as someone said in that last Melbourne try he was going off his head for the Ref to go upstairs, come to think i wish both Refs would of gone upstairs @ half time & not come back.

I agree with this, I think Fults offers a bit more in attack and tackles more. Heighno used to bend the line but rarely does which was the one thing he had over Liam. So I'd keep Liam and promote some more youth and exuberance who is willing to hit the line hard and try fair dinkum to get a fast play the ball.

Love to see him here next year even if it's off the bench. Player's favourite, professional, 'elder' of the team, been loyal and has been served well over the years, love to give him a big finish to a great career in '13.

Seems Danny Weidler read this topic. Just said he has been told to look else where. Eels and Sharks want him.

Channel 9 have confirmed he is on the outer and other clubs are in for him.

Would have been nice to say a proper goodbye to him, as he was an excellent loyal servant, even if he was never a world beater. It is time to move on though. With Sheens being given another stay of execution I think he has been told to ship out some of the players to shake things up. Id follow this move up buy showing Lote the door and trying to unload the likes of Asyhford or Moltzen. Of course The greatest move would have been to let the coach go, however it's clear now he is going to be there in 2013.

Well done Heighto, I wish him well, hopefully a decent last pay day. Wouldn't surprise me if he is rejuvenated somewhat under a coach other than Sheens.
